It's been an hour since I and Umar got here but Ya Abdul still wasn't out of the emergency room and the doctors still haven't told us anything

I got more nervous as the seconds passed

I stopped crying after realizing crying wasn't going to help Ya Abdul, but praying for him will

Umar went downstairs and he brought breakfast

Everyone ate but I couldn't even find it in me to even look at the food

I could only think about Ya Abdul

My phone vibrated and i turned to look at it on my lap

I looked away seeing it was a message from Airtel, but I looked back when something caught my eyes

I frowned before I held the phone

It showed on my home screen that I had a message from Rabi'ah  two and a half hours ago

I unlocked my phone and I went to my messages

My heart dropped as I read the message

'Hameeda, I didn't really want to disturb you early in the morning by calling you so I decided to send you a message, Ya Abdul came to my house this morning and he left some minutes ago, I was coming back from my morning jog with Maryam when I saw him arriving, I was very confused, Maryam went inside and I went to his car to see him, I was very shocked by what he told me, he informed me about his feelings for me, of all the people in the world I never expected Ya Abdul to like me, I always saw him as an older brother, so I told him the truth, and i also told him I liked Aliyu, he didn't say anything to me but I could see how hurt he was, i tried to stop him from leaving even though it didn't make sense but I Didn't want him to do anything reckless, then he told me there's nothing else to discuss and then he left, I have a really bad feeling Hameeda, please reply me when you see this and tell me if he's back home'

This was all my fault

If I had actually told Rabi'ah about how Ya Abdul feels sooner, he wouldn't be in this mess

But no! I was telling myself to wait for the right time

The tears that I had managed to stop started flowing again

Umar was the first to notice

He sighed as he helped me up "Cmon let's take a walk"

I nodded as he excused us from su Aunty and we went out

I tried to cover up my face to avoid stares from people as Umar wrapped his arm around my shoulder

We reached the parking lot

He unlocked his car and I entered the back seat

He turned on the AC before he joined me in the backseat

"I thought we were going for a walk" I murmured with a light chuckle

"It didn't seem like you would have appreciated that" he said as he gave me a little smile

"So tell me" he added "what did you read on your phone?"

I frowned in amusement "how did you know?"
