FOR TODAY'S CHAPTER, WE ARE GOING TO BE DISCUSSING CHARACTER FLAWS!

When shaping your characters, it's important to remember to not have them become Mary Sue's. (There will be an entire chapter dedicated to this common literature archetype.) Your characters need flaws if you want them to be realistic and relatable. They need flaws in order for your audience to be able to connect to them and believe, to an extent, that this fictional character could be real.

Some characters will have more flaws than redeeming qualities, others will be mostly perfect except for a thing or two, and others will fall somewhere in between.

To help all of you struggling with finding flaws that fit with your original character this chapter should hopefully help!

     Let's get started.

╰─── "A trait might be good in moderation, but a flaw if taken to the extreme. Something like confidence, for example, can be good. It's good to be proud of yourself and confident in what you can do. But as confident turns into prideful and prideful turns into arrogant, we can see a good quality become a bad one. Something like helpful is another good example. Your character might be incredibly giving and selfless, but when it's to a point where they ignore their own happiness, it's also a flaw."
