Staying? Or Leaving?

Kai panicked that the eggs were hatching early. "Flame what do I do?" Kai asks his dragon.

'Nothing master you have done your part now they must be the ones to break out of their shells,"

Flame said watching as the eggs cracked open. Kai watched as the eggs shells were chipped away slowly. "I'm gonna go get Hiccup he would love to see this," Kai said getting up only to be stopped by Flame's tail. 'Once the head is out of the shell the hatchling will let loose a fire hotter than the sun. Only a dragon and you could survive it," Flame explains. Kai nodded in understanding and waited. The first dragon came out and let loose it's flames that engulfed the cave scorching the ground beneath it.

The dragon made a small sound and went over to Flame who wrapped her wing around it. The next one came and gave the same burst of fire and once again snuggled up to Flame. Finally the last one came out, but instead of going to Flame it went to Kai and curled up in his lap. Kai internally freaks out at the dragon curled in his lap and looks to Flame for help who just smiles at him.

'Looks like we have the future protector of the fire master,'

Flame said to Kai with amusement and then tended to her two hatchlings leaving Kai to look after the baby dragon in his lap. The baby dragon had its eyes closed and was a little slimy with red scales over most of its body save for the tiny gold scales on its head above it's eyebrows and wings with some at the tip of the tail unlike Flame.

Kai looks at its siblings to see they had darker scales and were much bigger than the one in Kai's lap. "Flame? Are you sure this is the dragon that will continue your legacy? It's the runt of the litter," Kai said looking to Flame. 'Just because it is the smallest does not mean it will not grow to be the greatest. Just look at your twin brother Hiccup. He was viewed as the weakest Viking, but became the strongest not through brutal battles, but through a carrying heart and understanding that violence is not the answer and that maybe he was not on the right side of a war,' Flame explains. The baby dragon crawled up Kai's torso and laid on his shoulders snuggling in and sleeping. Kai smiles a little and pets the dragon. As he does this a thought comes to mind.

"Does this mean it's time to go home?" Kai asks Flame. The dragon looked up from her hatchlings and asks. 'Where is your home?' Flame asks. Kai looked to his lap. "I can't just leave the others they are probably so worried about us, but I just found my family and.....I don't want to leave them either, but I have responsibilities in Ninjago and I can't contact Hiccup or dad in another realm and your not always going to be around forever. Flame I don't know what do I do?" Kai asks his dragon in near desperation.

Flame nuzzled her master comfortingly. "It is hard master, but time passes here the same as it does in Ninjago. I know you want to stay which is why I must teach you a old art that will allow a elemental master to travel between realms,'

Kai's eyes widened to saucers. "I can travel between realms?" Kai asks. 'Yes all elemental masters can, but it takes unlocking a new power to do it. Once you unlock it you can visit your family as much as you want,' Flame said. Kai's eyes lit up in excitement. "How do I do it?" Kai asks and Flame gave a small chuckle. 'You must let go of your fears and summon your spirit dragon. You must picture your dragon and have faith in your abilities. Once you do that you can achieve the power as easy as you blink,' Flame said. "Okay then seems simple enough," Kai said. 'Be weary master I will be returning with these two at the end of the week. When your other family finds you not with me I will be forced to tell them where you have been,' Flame said. "I understand Flame I just hope they do to," Kai said.

"Kai!"

Kai turns to the source of the voice and saw Hiccup had run in out of breath. "I saw the flames from the village and," he pauses seeing the three hatchlings and the one around his brother's neck. "The eggs hatched," Kai said proudly. Hiccup looked at them in awe. A thought accrued to him though. "Does this mean you need to leave?" Hiccup asks. "I can't stay forever, but I can still come and visit as much as I can. Flame must leave with two of her hatchlings back to Ninjago. Till then it's just a game of waiting to see how long until my other family shows up. I hope they haven't worried too much about me," Kai said wistfully. Hiccup lights up hearing this from his brother that he will not be gone forever.

"Hiccup? I want to tell you something, but promise not to freak out?" Kai asks his twin. Hiccup gave a nervous glance and looked at Tooth-less waiting outside the cave before looking back at Kai. "Of course," Hiccup said. Kai took a deep breath and summoned flames. Hiccup let loose a small screech and backed away before calming down enough to take a closer look. "How are you doing this?" Hiccup asks in awe. "Magic. It's why Flame took me she could tell I was special that I had the magic," Kai told his brother moving the flames around. Hiccup was memorized by it before he started ranting excited. "I got to tell the others I got to," Kai put his hands out and grabbed Hiccup snapping him from his rant.

"Hiccup you can't tell anyone. They hunted and killed dragons because they didn't understand them. If anyone found out about this then we will all be in danger including your friends and your dragons including dad. Hiccup I can do dangerous things I can scorch a entire island without even trying. I have control, but if someone used me if this Viggo Grim-born decided to use my powers think of the destruction that could follow," Kai explains to his twin. Hiccup blinks as he processed that. "It's going to be hard to keep secret," Hiccup said. "You can keep it. Your my brother I trust you with my life," Kai said supportively. Hiccup thinks for a moment longer. "Alright I can keep it," Hiccup said. "Great, now please watch Flame for me I need to meditate in the lava," Kai said standing up to walk out leaving the other baby dragon with its siblings. "Don't you mean by the lava?" Hiccup asks. "Nah I was going to take a swim did I not mention I was lava proof?" Kai asks. Hiccup looked gob smacked and Kai laughed at him. "Just joking bro. I do need to meditate though so I'll see you later?" Kai asks.

Hiccup smiles. "Yeah see you later," Hiccup said.

Kai leaves and found a nice quiet spot where he sat down in a meditative position and took a deep breath as he began his meditation. It was disturbed though when he sighed. "I know your there," he said and dodged a axe thrown at him.

"I saw what you did! You made lava float!" Astrid rants at him coming over and grabbing his shirt and pulled it against him. "Look blonde I am just like you in the sense we can both kill each other in many different in painful and painless ways. Since your my brother's girlfriend I won't turn you into a rotting corpse, but leave me the hell alone. You are lucky I don't tell Hiccup that you and your gal pal lead Yohan right to my dragon," Kai said. Astrid lost her cool for a moment. "How do you know that was me?" She asks. "You just admitted it," Kai smirks and Astrid curses Loki that she fell for the trick.

"But I really like saying I told you so and I also don't want there to be a rift with you and the riders so yeah, but I'm serious when I say I want you gone and I won't say anything and you don't say anything deal?" Kai asks. Astrid took a moment before cursing again and dropping Kai who sat down again and meditates.

She left cursing a lot.
