She stood there stunned.

Unmoving.

The feathers had shrouded Rosa's thoughts from all else except her new limbs. It was as though she had grown an extra arm or leg out of nowhere - which, in fairness, she did - and now she was left to contemplate all the life choices that had led up to this particularly adverse event.

A voice interrupted her inner dialogue.

Rosa broke from her thoughts, turning to face Legolas who had been observing her closely.

"I do not know what else you hide," he taunted, face and neck still dripping with water, and watching her closely.

Her breathing went heavy and her nostrils flared. 'Well It'd be lovely if I could know too!' she wanted to cry out - scream at him.

But she kept silent. And at her silence, he continued, a murmur, feeling every rapid rise and fall of her chest. "Are you aware of the consequences?"

"...for what?"

He pursed his lips and smiled with feline grace. "Still playing innocent, I see. Perhaps, I will show you," he drew out, dragging the blade higher and higher up her neck. "The consequences for the one who lies." The tip of the dagger outlined the edges of her mouth. "And spies for the Dark Queen."

"I- I was not lying."

"No?" He cocked his head to the side, lips twitching up in amusement. "I believe that's still a lie."

"I was not lying!" She shouted, seething in his face. "Or spying! I don't even know who this so called 'enemy' is right now but I'm feeling a lot like it could be you!"

He raised a brow at her outburst. A droplet of water rolled down his slender nose, quivering at the tip before falling onto her shoulder. She was still breathing heavily, her body a shivering, trembling wreck - but defiantly holding his gaze.

"Legolas," Aragorn's voice cut through the silence. "Leithio den, mellon nin."

There was a pause. Then a particularly heavy sigh as the elf pushed himself off the tree. He hesitated at the fear and anger on her face, but then turned his back and stalked off. The moment he moved away, Rosa's arms dropped to her sides - shoulders sagging from the temporary relief. She took in two huge, shuddering breaths, before lifting her head.

She was greeted by the sight of Aragorn. His eyes were wary, yet there was an understanding swirling beneath the silver depths. Her gaze travelled down to the outstretched hand he offered her. She looked back up.

The man's face was stoic, but his expression held a silent apology.

Maybe it was the fire inside her, or the rushing tiredness that took over. But she accepted his hand and was pulled to her feet, carefully being wrapped in his cloak. It was heavily worn from the man's travels, she noticed, but the warmth it offered was enough to dry her body at the least.

Sleep wasn't an option now, she knew. And she would not sleep well until she was returned to her home, safe in the warm cutches of her Father's embrace.

This was the only thought clouding her mind as she fell into step behind the Ranger.

Rosa's body moved with the gentle trots of the horse directly below her. She was seated behind Aragorn this time. Across from them, Gimli and Legolas followed, the latter lost in his thoughts as he gripped the reins of Arod. Legolas had been quiet since they set out. Avoiding her.
