When Raven awoke she was in a familiar place. The library's fireplace was lit and she was on the couch wrapped in a blanket. Something underneath her moved and she noticed she was laying on a lap. She looked up and saw Nyx smiling sweetly at her, a book in her hand. She set the book aside and whispered quietly,

"Are you okay my dear?" Raven bolts upright and begins to apologize,

"I'm so sorry! What happened? Where are we? Where is?..." She began to panic and Nyx held her close for a moment.

Raven froze in the embrace but eventually hugs her back. They stay like that until Raven had calmed down,

"I should give you some explanation, that creature goes by Ace, and he's... My father." The panic began to set in as Raven almost scrambled out of her arms but Nyx held firm.

"No please don't be afraid, I'm not associated with that thing back there, he is disgusting and only stands to gain power through my failures!" Then Nyx released Raven and apologized, "I'm sorry for raising my voice, he just makes me so.." she took a deep breath and breathed out, "Agitated." She said now calm again.

Raven sat there, not fearing Nyx, but having questions. "What do you mean by your failures? What does that have to do with me?"

Nyx spoke, "My father will do anything to ensure I lose everything I care for, it's hard to explain..."

Raven looked confidently into Nyx's eyes, "I know more than you think, I've met Alli, she told me of the others, how her neck was snapped.."

Nyx looked confused, "But Alli wasn't killed like..." Nyx stopped, her eyes looking away and tears forming. She wiped them away and spoke aloud, "Of course she would spare you her story, I wouldn't wish her treatment on my wrist enemy."

Her eyes glowed for a moment and all she said was a soft

"I hate you father."

A tear falling from her face, Raven reached out, she cups the woman's face, leading their gazes to lock eyes.

"Please.. I'm here, I'll listen, you won't scare me away, you saved me, I'm very.. grateful and can't thank you enough."

Nyx's eyes flickered to Raven's lips for a split second, Raven took notice. Her heart hammering in her chest, Raven leans forward and gently presses her lips to Nyx's. Wide eyed at first, Nyx was shocked, Raven's eyes fluttered closed as she held the woman's face in her hands. Nyx gave in and closed her eyes as well, melting into the kiss. Too soon Raven pulled back, Nyx's eyes shooting open and she looked at the now blushing young girl.

She then held her hand over Ravens on her face, softly whispering,

"I will always try to protect you, I won't let anything happen to you again." Raven smiled.

"I believe you."

They smiled at each other until Nyx broke hers, patting Raven's leg gently.

"Alli didn't die, by a broken neck, she officially died of starvation...." Raven spoke up,

"She mentioned a girl had done so, of her own accord though, and she didn't name herself."

Nyx looked down sadly, "She must have lied so as to not upset you. I can understand after everything she went through."

"Why what happened to her?"

Nyx looked straight into Raven's eyes, "What happened to you I assume, but I didn't ever find her.... She had to... Do things to earn her food, or she was given food that was drugged." Raven gasped and held her hand to her chest.

Nyx continued, "He sent me a letter, describing intimate parts of her body, laughing in my face and describing what he did to her and how she cried for me everytime..." Raven began to cry as she held Nyx's hand.

Nyx was crying again also as she continued the rest of the story.

"He-he dumped her dead body in the rose bushes outside, causing more damage to her body. I found her myself just after dawn, covered in bruises and hand prints..." Nyx was shaking as she continued.

"The reason? He was told a fortune about a power greater than his, that would be his downfall."

Nyx continued to cry as Raven pulled the woman to her side on the plush couch, Nyx hasn't the strength to argue and lets her lead her. Raven holds her to her chest and pets her hair.

"That wasn't your fault."

Raven held her close and whispered softly, "That didn't happen this time, you saved me just in time."

Nyx leans her head up and it was Raven who met her lips again, this time feeling more urgent, more eager, just more. A small symphony of moans leave them both as the kiss deepens...
