Chapter Twenty-four

Wherever Raven was it was very hot and very dark, there was a faint glow off to the left of her little jail but it did little to light the room.

Where am I?

I can't see anything.

Look closer

What?

Raven tried to focus and found she could see a little thanks to the faint light. Hearing another voice in her head she began to panic a little.

Who are you?

That's not important

Isn't it?

No, now just remain calm and know your beloved is on her way

Nyx?

Yes child

Raven could hear movement from somewhere else.

"Hello?" She called out.

The movement stopped but a small feminine voice called out, "Yes, I'm here, are you real?"

Raven said, "Yes of course, why wouldn't I be?"

"It's part of his tricks to make me crazy, sometimes he makes me think I'm with someone while I'm alone... I'm usually alone..."

Raven felt for the girl, "My name is Raven."

"My name is... Actually I don't remember my name..." Raven heard sobbing.

"Don't worry we will get out of here somehow."

"Oh I wouldn't count on that."

Ace appeared by the dim light carrying a torch, finally lighting the whole room, revealing they were inside a cave.

Raven scoffed, "Please! Nyx found me once she will find me again!"

Ace walked close to Raven's locked door on the small jail and said, "Ah yes, I'm counting on that."

"What's that supposed to mean?" She asked.

Ace gets a devilish look on his face and throws a powder in Raven's face, causing the girl to inhale it and cough. Feeling very lightheaded, Raven slipped to the ground. Ace starts to laugh.

"You'll not get rid of me so easily." Raven says coughing more.

Ace starts laughing more, "Oh you see poor dear. It's not me you'll need to worry about.

He goes to unlock Raven's door and steps inside, pulling a knife from his pocket. Raven tries to back away but fails to move more than a little ways. Ace walks up to her and slashes her across her stomach, causing red to seep from the wound. Ace chuckles at Raven's expression of pain and steps back out of the jail, gently closing it behind him, but not relocking it.

"She will be here soon enough for you to say goodbye." Ace says, a smirk on his face.

Raven is very confused and asks, "What do you mean?"

Ace continues, "It occurred to me that getting rid of my daughter's destined love year after year is getting tiring. When I could nip the problem in the bud a little closer to home."

At first Raven was still confused, then it hit her, "You're going to kill her?!" She yelled out before collapsing on the floor.

Ace smiled, "Any moment now, I can feel her close..."

He chuckles evilly as black smoke surrounds him, snuffing the torch and putting them into darkness again.
