12| Monaco Grand Prix

I hear my alarm go off softly and reach my hand over to shut it off. It was six am and we need to go the paddock early because today was race day. I see Aria's alarm go off as well but she doesn't move to shut it off so I do it for her. I slowly shake her awake, she wakes up and groans in annoyance. "Good morning baby" I say softly. She opens her eyes and smiles at me. "It's race day good luck" She says kissing my cheek. 

She gets up to go brush her teeth. I decide to bring my stuff over here to make it easier for us but mostly because I wanted to be near her. We brush our teeth in silence because we are still waking up. 

These past two days with practice and quali were really good. I scored p2 in quali and practice was good with p3 and p5. I didn't get to see Aria that much because I was mostly in the car or always being photo graphed so I couldn't see her. 

We both finished brushing our teeth and she washed her mouth before turning to me and kissing me. I found it sweet that she didn't want to kiss me before brushing her teeth but I really didn't mind. She pulled away and we both went to go get dressed. I changed into my Ferrari shirt and jeans. I put on my bracelet stack on and my rings. I brushed though my hair and also grabbed a hoodie for later. I walked out and started coffee for both of us. Aria came out in a hoodie and leggings. She started breakfast for both of us.

As I was making our coffee when she began to sing. My ears have been blessed. When we were singing I couldn't ever hear her properly because the music was so loud and she would sing so quietly. I stopped a listened for a little while. She was singing 'Young and Beautiful' by Lana Del Rey. I picked up my phone and opened the photos app. I go to video and press record and set my phone down. I go back to making  the iced coffee's and enjoy the little concert I was getting. 

She finished the food and we ate. I stopped the recording and begin to eat. She had made us eggs and bagels with cream cheese. I finished the eggs but realized we were running a little late so we took the bagel to go. I grab my duffle back that had everything I need for race day and put on my shoes. We walk to the elevator and step in. "Has anyone ever told you that you have a beautiful voice" I say to her. She blushed and shakes her head. I give her one last kiss before we have to act like total strangers again. 

We begin to walk to the paddock. I takes a little while because of all the fans wanting pictures and for me to sign things. We eventually get to the garage and we still have two hour till the race. I need to study the strategies. I put in my head phones and by habit open Spotify for my pre race playlist but stop myself and open my recording from this morning. 

I play that on repeat. Her voice helped me calm my nerves for the race. One of the mechanics come to tell me to get changed into my racing suit. I go to my racing room and change my suit and shoes. 

It was time for me to get in the car so I put my balaclava on along with my helmet and climb in. My mechanic does my belts up and makes sure that everything was fine. Out of the corner of my eye I see Aria looking over at me. We make eye contact and I can see that she is nervous. I give her a small nod and she nods back. 

Time skip to middle of race

Everything was going smoothly until now. The team was telling me to push for first. I was already stressed because Lando was behind me trying to overtake me. I was already struggling to keep my place and now how do they expect me to take first. 

The mechanics are yelling over the radio and it's not helping in the slightest. They are tell me to do all sorts of thing then changing their mind two seconds later. The radio goes silent for a minute until I hear it come back on.
