3rd pov:

"Suguru Geto once roamed shadowy alleys during a scorching summer, hunting the surging cursed spirits. In this urban darkness, he stumbled upon a cursed spirit feasting upon a lifeless man. With practiced finesse, he absorbed it using his Cursed Spirit Manipulation. The process, especially with the fifth taste, weighed heavily on him. Since "that day," he'd recited moral affirmations to preserve his composure amidst the malevolence."

"It all began in 2006. Grade 1 sorcerer Mei Mei and grade 2 sorcerer Utahime Iori are given a mission to investigate a cursed mansion ripe with paranormal activity and missing victims in Hamamatsu City."

"This used to be the home of the president of a company managing a local chain of barbecue restaurants. However, in July of last year, the mad cow disease breakout dealt a fatal blow to his restaurants, so he committed suicide with his family after it buried them under vast debt. From then on, local rumors claimed the president's home was haunted, so local school kids, college students from outside the prefecture, job-hoppers, and others would visit it as part of a test of courage and subsequently go missing. Those rumors brought about more rumors and the damage just continued to spread." Utahime said

"Rumours do tend to spread rather quickly around haunted spots. They can spread at an unbelievable pace nowadays, thanks to the internet. This all just means even more work for us jujutsu sorcerers." Mei Mei responded.

"In addition to that, three grade school kids went missing on their way home from school. There's also a high chance the families, police, colleagues, and friends who trace the paths of those who disappeared will reach the mansion and become victims themselves. We have to sever the root of this issue as soon as possible."

An assistant manager arrives at the scene, and Utahime starts getting ready to cast a protective barrier. However, Mei Mei interjects, informing her that there's no need for it because they intend to exorcise the curse from within the building.

As the two sorcerers ventured into the forsaken house, they couldn't help but take notice of the pervasive squalor that plagued every room. Utahime, gripped by fear, hesitated while Mei Mei, her demeanor unwavering, proposed they divide their exploration, each taking a separate floor. Reluctantly, Utahime agreed, and they began their solo investigations. However, it wasn't long before they crossed paths on the same floor, both puzzled by the repetition of trash and filth.

Mei Mei astutely deduced that they might be ensnared within the cursed spirit's innate domain, a realization that sent shivers down Utahime's spine. Mei Mei went on to elucidate that a domain was essentially a manifestation of the mindscape, and in this particular case, they were ensnared within a barrier crafted to ensnare the cursed spirit's hapless victims.

Mei Mei exuded confidence, assuring Utahime that the cursed spirit they sought was feeble and could be exorcised, provided they could escape the barrier. She framed her query to Utahime as a test of her strategic prowess, asking for the best course of action.

Utahime, her mind racing, discerned the subtle intricacy of the situation. Instead of a circular hallway, she realized it was an elongated corridor that the barrier patched together as they moved along it. Her epiphany led her to propose a daring plan: sprint down the hallway at breakneck speed, with the expectation that the barrier wouldn't keep pace and would eventually falter.

Mei Mei, impressed with Utahime's idea, awarded it a staggering ninety out of a hundred points but added her brilliant twist. She suggested they run in opposite directions, enhancing the plan's chances of success.
