“Lift your left arm.” Carlisle said, jotting down notes on a piece of paper.

We were in the Cullen’s livingroom; everyone was sitting around, watching and chatting with me as Carlisle did the tests on me.

I groaned as I lifted my arm. “But, Carlisle—I’m perfectly fine. I don’t need any physio!”

Jacob snorted; he was sitting beside me on the couch.

Emmett, who I met yesterday, laughed from the corner. “Guinea pig.”

I flashed a glare at him, my cheeks burning. “Shut up, Emmett!”

He rolled his eyes, continuing to laugh at me.

“Sorry, Summer.” Carlisle smiled, bending my elbow back a little, then jotting some words down on the paper. “I’d rather be happy knowing you’re perfectly healthy then let you go without being sure.”

“But this is so boring.” I glanced up at Edward. “Hey—Ed. What am I thinking?”

Edward sighed; he tightened his grip around Bella’s waist. “You’re imagining yourself sitting in a field.” He paused. “Without Carlisle bending your arm.”

            Carlisle chuckled; I grinned.

            “How much longer, doc?”

He laughed, then wrote down more notes. “You’re done, actually.” Then, he glanced at Jacob. “Jacob, we were wondering if you and Summer would like to join us in a game of baseball—it would be interesting to have a werewolf play.”

Jacob looked at me. “Whaddya say, Summer?”

I shrugged, closing my eyes. “What the hell, why not? Baseball. With Vampires and a werewolf. Fun.”

“Oh my damn, oh my damn, oh my damn.” I muttered under my breath.

Alice rolled her eyes, giving me a smirk. “Don’t be scared, Summer.” Her voice was light. “You’re only a short-stop.”

My eyes were wide as she wound up to pitch. “You’ve gotta be shitting me, Alice!” I hissed as the ball spun through the air so fast I couldn’t see it. “They could run over me. I could die!

A loud crack filled the air as Edward hit the ball; I flinched. A fat raindrop landed on my nose, falling from the dark clouds swirling above us.
