Chapter 20

Don't tell me I'm stupid for entering the house of my literal enemy. My father. But he called me out for a reason, and I need to listen, even if he hadn't to me. My father had still looked torn apart after my attack on him. And oh, believe me, I still wanted to rip his throat off his miserable body after what he and his pack put Gabriel through. But I wasn't going to stoop to their level, even if I already had at one point.

I inspect the room carefully, the choose the perfect chair for me to sit in. I sat across the table from my father. "Thank you for coming Dawn," my father folds his hands together and looks at me in the eyes.

"Why am I here?" I narrow my eyes at him.

"Well," he sighs, "first of all I'd like you to know that I am with Rune now. She is currently my girlfriend." That's not surprising. "Secondly, I finally know what I did wrong Dawn, I know what I did."

"That's awesome," I use sarcasm, "now why am I here."

"I had been in contact with your mate," Gabriel? What? "He told me many things about you, that I hadn't even known about you."

"Because you weren't in my childhood. You locked me in a basement. Remember?"

"And I'd like to apologize for that," he looks at me with sorrow, "not only was I not in your childhood but I endangered you. I may have four daughters and nine sons, but you were the only child I treated the way I did, I may have succeeded with 13 children but I failed one and that makes me a horrible parent."

What? No kidding.

Maybe I'm using sarcasm as a defensive device but what can you expect from me? I'm also starting to get irritated because I'm away from Gabe, I miss him and I want him really badly.

"I want to make things right, Dawn. For you and for your mother. You're mother would have been so disappointed in me for doing the things I did," He sighs loudly, small tears welling in his eyes. "I'm disappointed in myself."

"It took you seven and a half years to realize what you did? Funny."

"I'm sorry Dawn, I really am. It was like someone took over my brain and I finally gained control over it again. If I could, I'd go back in time and slap myself so hard and make myself understand who I was endangering and what was going to happen."

I scoff, "be an adult Raanan, you know what you did, take responsibility for your previous actions-" I get up to leave when he grabs my arm while standing up.

"I wanted you to move back in- not in the celler. An actual bedroom."

I start laughing, "you think I'm going to move in with you after the hell you put me through? You're fucking hilarious!" I rip my arm out of his grasp and make my way to the door agitated.

"Just think about it Dawn! Please, I just want to make up for the last seven years!"

"And a half!" I walk away into the woods, then ending up changing into my wolf self out of anger. I start tearing down trees and throwing rocks with my wolf self in control out of anger.

I lay on the cool ground panting, this has officially been the most angering day but the most eventful.

Dawn, come back, it's Gabe. Cali mind speaks to me.

I rush up and start running home, the pissy mood leaving me. What's wrong with Gabe!?

I enter the house but naked from turning into a wolf and out of a wolf (clothes only stretch so far), and I quickly spot Gabe and run to him, he puts his sweater over top of me so no one can see.

"Are you okay?" I breath heavily while hugging him. He softens at the sight of me.

"Yeah, I just got a little irritated..." he looks around the room, "since you were gone," he sheepishly smiles as I look around the room.

It was trashed, actually trashed isn't the right word. It's worse then trashed. It's horrendous.

Cali walks down the stairs, "I knew I smelled you," she smiles, "you also appeared to have been angry considering you're basically naked," she chuckles, "forgot to warn you on that."

I chuckle pulling down Gabriel's sweater more, it was already like a dress on me but for a little extra care, I still pulled it down.

Gabriel puts his hand around my back bringing me in closer to him. I melted at his touch.

Cali clears her throat, "let's bring you upstairs to change and maybe have a little girl talk?" She sheepishly smiles at me.

"Of course," I smile, I look up at Gabriel, give him a little peck on the cheek then make my way upstairs with Cali.

Layla had already been in my room when Cali and I got there. Cali pulled out some clothes for me to change into.

After I left my bathroom I sat down on my bed looking at Cali and Layla.

"We need your help on something.." Cali starts.

"So you know my mate is Spartan," Layla looks at me, a smile on her face thinking of him.

"Of course."

"Well, as much as I always wanted a mate, I don't think I want him until he matures and invests time into me. You know?"

I shake my head.

"So I was wondering maybe you could get in touch with one of your brothers and I could hang out with them or whatever and maybe that would turn something on in Spartan.."

I sit there for a moment, "I haven't talked to any of my siblings in years," I look down at my hands.

Is this like a sign that the world does want me to move back in with my father?

I take a deep steady breath in, "I'll try to get a hold of one of my brothers and see, but no promises," I look at Layla.

Cali smiles then brings the attention on her, "same goes for me," she blushes shyly, I've never seen Cali this shy.

"It's time you knew the truth," she looks down at her intertwined fingers, "Leo is my mate, and we both knew since we were very young. But since we grew up together, he doesn't want to break the special friend bond that we have," she takes what looks like a painful breath in, "so he rejected me as a mate."

A small drop of water hits her hand, she was crying, "it's been like that for years, and we both have kind of been bitter towards eachother. At first I accepted it because we were young, but were older now, and I seen a glint in his eyes the other day, one I hadn't seen in years.." she smiles shyly to herself, "I want him back but I don't know how to."

I hug her, "I'll do everything in my power okay? But no promises."

Father, I might be coming home...
