Chapter 21

A world so small, full of people who don't deserve your time.

Sometimes they abuse you. Make you feel so small.

Sometimes they are just there for you when you need them the most. They love you for who you are.

And sometimes they reject you until they have to love you. You can't fight against your instincts forever..

So that's why I decided to move back in with my father.

I know what is going to happen, I know the consequences. And I'll take it because I deserve it.

Just kidding! I am NOT moving in with my father, but we did make an agreement of seeing eachother once a week. Every Tuesday if possible.

Why?

Because he's making an effort to actually talk to me, to make a mends to the crappy things he's done to me. Actually, more like he wouldn't leave me alone until I agreed.

I've been rescued for a month and a half now, I look stunning now that I have meat on my bones and clothes on my back, my scars are still visible but they are apart of me. It's who I am.

My 18th birthday is just around the corner and I feel great!

Cali drove me to the wharf, I had been wearing a black elegant cocktail dress, it had a V-neck, the straps went around my neck. By the time my dress hit mid torso it popped out almost like a cupcake. I wore bright red heels with matching jewelry. My eyes open wide as I taken in every little detail.

Gabriel had asked me on a date days after the girls conversation. We were at a wharf, lights were dangling high above us, letting off a yellowish tinge to the table and things around us. On the table was a singular rose, and on each end of the table had plates, full of food.

And the wharf itself had thousands, millions of rose pedals, from the grass before the wharf up to the very end. Even rose pedals in the water.

I look at Gabriel in his beautiful blue eyes, I could drown in how deep they were, like the ocean with rapid waters.

Our hands caressed each other, my heart beat hard against my chest. His breath was like fire against my ice cold body.

Goosebumps went across my skin like a bunch of tiny mountains on the earth. And for once it felt like time had slowed around us. This was just us. He smiled slowly at me.

Joy filling his eyes like fire with gasoline. My heart was almost in a panic. I was shaking, I loved him so much.

Have you ever loved something so much you just wanted it, like you wanted to posses it, you wanted to keep it forever and ever? My precious.

(Sorry I had to make the famous Lord Of The Rings reference from Sméagol)

This is what I felt. I wanted Gabriel.

"I love you Dawn Frost," he smiles, he was clearly nervous over something. But I didn't know what.

"I love you the most Gabriel Artic," I held his hands at my sides looking up at him face to face. I go on my trip toes and kiss him ever so gently, like a small touch on the lips. And the smallest touch made me crave more.

"Dawn," I pull away still looking up at him.

"I love you, and want nothing more but to be with you forever," I smile shyly at him. "I want to take care of you, I want to make sure you're safe, and most of all-"

He bends down on one knee, nervously pulling out a engagement ring from his tuxedo pocket, his hands shaking.

It was simply a small silver band, nothing big or flashy.

"I want us to be together forever-" tears welled up in my eyes as I bring my hand up to wipe them away, "will you marry me, Dawn?"

"Yes!" I hold out my hand so he could slide the ring in, but just then he accidentally drops the ring through the holes of the wharf.

I chuckle as he stands up flustered, "of course I'd do that," he chuckles, then makes his way off the small wharf and underneath of it finding the ring.

I take off my shoes and meet him in the water looking for it.

As soon as we meet by the pole he looks at me with a bright smile on his face.

I make my way over to him in the freezing cold water, smiling as well. He holds out a even bigger ring (up top), "marry me Dawn," he smiles proudly.

"Of course," I chuckle holding our my finger. "Dont drop it again," he laughs harder putting the ring on my finger, "how did it change?"

"I guess the moon and water wanted you to have the finer things in life," I chuckle loudly.

Just when I give Gabe a kiss I heard a loud camera noise with a flash. I look over at the docks dark end and see Layla and Leo holding cameras.

I start laughing like crazy, "this was all a plan! You guys!" I hug all of them smiling like an idiot.

"I love all of you," I smile to myself.

I was thankful and grateful for them.

"We love you too Luna."

Ps. Although a month and a half of knowing a person is pretty fast to do something as crazy as getting engaged. They are mates, a mate is a forever bond between two people, so if you think about it, it's not that crazy because they are mates (werewolves hello)
