Unravelling The Mystery

When I woke up I realized it's finally that day I'd long awaited for.. I was finally turning eighteen and it was the legal age in our country...

I was free to make my own decisions now!!
I rose up and immediately felt light headed...
I fell back on my bed to let the dizziness pass... "What's going on?" I couldn't help but wonder.
I rose up again but slowly this time round..
But I still felt strange... I couldn't pinpoint what I was feeling and that topped up with my weird dreams did nothing to quell my growing anxiety..
I felt something major coming.. but what could it be?? My life was pretty simple and nothing extreme nor extraordinary ever happened so to say I was confused and restless would be an understatement...
Nevertheless I went and got ready for the day..
When I went to the huge dining room, I found nobody and that was surprising!! How could such a huge home be so quiet? I mean the place was ever buzzing with activity... I was getting creeped out and exasperated when suddenly everyone streamed into the dining room shouting happy birthday to me....

My heart swelled with pride and I momentarily forgot my anxiety and felt glad to belong here..
This was my family and I loved this people so much.
With tears threatening to fall,I received hugs and all sorts of presents from almost everyone... Of course not everything was bought actually majority of the things I received were hand made but that made them more special...

When they finished handing out the gifts we all sat down to have our breakfast..
My best friend and the person I was closest to sat down beside me..
Her name is Sandra and she is like my sister. We're practically together almost the whole time.. we told each other everything...
She nudged me and congratulated me for attaining the legal age.. I just laughed and reminded her that she'd be turning legal in a couple of months.. She smiled goofily and I knew she couldn't wait for the time..

Today we were on duty so we had to clean the little kids and make sure they were okay... We also had to help wash the clothes so I knew today would be hectic...
The sisters said I could rest today since it was my day apparently but I refused..I was going to help because I liked doing it.
They gave up and I smiled ready to partake in today's activities.. I still had a shift in the evening at the coffee shop but I didn't mind..
I was used to working hard...
We were in the middle of fulfilling our duties when I was summoned to the office.

Suddenly my anxiety came back tenfold..
I couldn't help but dread what was to come...
I really hoped nothing big had happened..
Like maybe I'd lost the job, or maybe the college position I had had been taken away from me for not reporting in time..
As I walked to the office I tripped from an abandoned toy. I braced myself for the impact but I hung in air!!

I felt a weird jolt in my body and leaped up.. I looked up and into the most beautiful green eyes I'd ever seen and I felt myself getting lost in them..
In front of me was the hottest guy I'd ever seen and by hot, I mean really hot!!
He was tall, and a slightly brown toned skin.. He was huge and muscles were visible even under the clothes he wore .. Damn!! He cleared his throat and l was brought back to reality..
I couldn't help the blush that spread on my face.. he'd seen me staring..
I quickly thanked him and proceeded to the office more careful this time round..

Only to find out that I didn't belong here anymore...!!!
