YOU'RE SCORED ON ME.❞

our story:

Virginia Marjorie Curtis never wanted to be nicknamed "Bluebell." What was so wrong with plain, old 'Virginia'? It was beautiful, endearing, unique like she always aspired to be.

Virginia always knew she wanted to become something extraordinary  Unfortunately, an outlandish career could only take her so far independently in that day and age. But Virginia has one goal: to pursue her dreams of artistic bliss. No one will stop her, a statement revered by many on the Northside.

Not even a sweet, sweater-wearing Soc with a kind heart and one-of-a-kind blue eyes. Or Dallas Winston.

disclaimer:

this story contains violence, language, sexual situations, mentions and/or depictions of abuse, sexual harassment/rape, racism, and underage drinking and drug usage. none of this is meant to be romanticized. some information regarding the time period may be inaccurate.

this story is a SLOWBURN!! please do not complain about the pace of the story as every chapter is working to something greater :)

virginia curtis and sam gardner belong to me as well as the general plot and other minor characters to come. usage of these characters/plots is NOT authorized. all other characters belong to s.e. hinton. i do not own lines and homages that may be derived from outside resources (ex. "little women", "anne with an 'e'") so please don't comment about similarities as i will delete them without a response :) correlation to other sources is purely coincidental.

hi there! greetings and salutations from 2023. this story turned three years old, and it's my firstborn child, my wonderful little trash fire tracking my growth as a person and a writer. first, i'd love to thank the OG readers who have been with me as i wrote this book, from whichever point you decided to join me on. this is my first "official" fanfiction, and the one that gained the most traction when i restarted my wattpad account and found wonderful communities and moots! for this reason, "bluebell" and virginia curtis will have a special place in my heart and it is exactly that reason why i'm ultra-protective of her. with new crops of readers coming in, i'd like to remind you to please be gentle with her and the story. reading recent comments criticizing virginia, the pace of the story, and other characters, especially from the first couple posted (written while i was a baby writer and since, left untouched), compelled me to post this disclaimer. no, she will not fall head over heels for dallas and they will not get married by chapter four because of his undying love for her, get used to it. like where's the dramaaa 👀 where's the suspense?? it doesn't matter what fandom i write for, i am and always have been a writer and person who values character over romance. on top of that, this fic is a SLOW. BURN. so be nice with your words please and remember that yes, i do read every comment and i'm sure you'll understand why i may respond to some and not others <3

author's note:

hi! happy to see you on this page! although i read this book in 7th grade, for some reason i've gotten back into it all and remembered how much i loved this book and characters.

this story takes place six months after The Outsiders and each part which jump into a future time period BUT obviously, this is the much-wanted reality where johnny and dally survive.

as mentioned in the disclaimer, this story is a slowburn and though it may seem like it takes forever for things to start picking up, it's all for a reason such as developing the character of my oc which is a progression i value incredibly.

happy reading and do be so kind as to vote, comment, and share for your author!
