Nailipat na sa isang private room si Ina. Nasa loob at binabantayan siya ng kaniyang mga kapatid at kaibigan. Habang ang ama niya at si Kaiser ay nasa labas at kausap ang doctor na nag-asikaso sa kaniya.
"Mr. Torrealba. You did a good job on checking her pulse first before you perform a Cardio Pulmonary resuscitation. Because if you didn't, then she'll be in grave danger."
Puri sa kaniya ng lalaking doctor. Ngunit wala doon ang isip niya. Hindi mapakali at ilang beses na niyang sinisilip ang pintuan ng kwartong kinalalagyan ng asawa.
"Is she alright now, Doc? Any problems or effects from the incident?" tanong ng ama ni Ina sa doctor nang mapansin na distracted si Kaiser.
"Luckily, her heartbeat now is normal and her breathing is stable. She'll be awoke probably tomorrow morning. At sa paggising niya, wag kayong magpanic kung sisigaw na lang siya bigla. It's a normal thing especially dahil agad niyang irerecall kung anong nangyari sa kaniya before she passed out. Call me as soon as she'll wake up."
Tumango sa kaniya ang ama ni Ina. Tumalikod ang lalaking doctor para umalis. Si Kaiser naman ay kaagad lumapit sa pintuan para pumapasok. Nang agad na humarap ang doctor at tinawag ang atensyon nila.
"Excuse me gentlemen. An Ob-gyne doctor will arrive later."
"Ob-gyne doctor? What do you mean doc.?"
Kaiser's expression grim.
"Nang makarating kayo kanina sa ER, dinugo ang pasyente. So I asked one of my Ob-gyne colleague to check on your wife. I think the result will be out any moment."
"I-is my wife... I-is she p-pregnant?"
Tanong ni Kaiser.
"I'm not sure Mr. It's just my suspicion, that's why I called my colleague."
"Damn!" Kaiser hissed then, slam the wall. His eyes lit up with anger and rage. And The doctor seem to notice his reaction, kaya nagpaalam na ito.
"Son.. I know what you're feeling right now. But, please don't let anger cloud your judgement. You're wife needs you now. Leave the case to the police."
Mahinahong paliwanag sa kaniya ng manugang niya.
Hindi siya nagsalita. His lips are pressed together. His face is blank. And he is gazing at the door intently. After a while, may dumating na isang babaeng doctor.
"Are you Mrs. Torrealba's guardian?" sabay silang lumingon sa bagong dating na doctora.
"I have a bad and good news for you gentlemen. I'll tell you first the good news. Your wife is 5 weeks pregnant Mr. Kaiser."
Hindi nakapagsalita ang dalawa sa narinig. Kaya't nagpatuloy ang doctora sa sasabihin.
"The bad news is, she almost lose your angel because of the incident. So, from now on, as much as possible. Ilayo niyo sa mga bagay na maaring mag-cause ng stress sa kaniya. Less work, less stress, less problems equals to a healthy baby. Kapag naulit panang ganitong pangyayari, there's a high risk na mawala ang baby. I'm telling you this beforehand, mahina ang kapit ng bata. So, she needs healthy foods. Any questions?"
"Thank you Doctora. We'll keep that in mind." ang ama ni Ina ang sumagot.
Naka-alis na ang doctora ngunit, hindi pa rin nagsasalita si Kaiser na ikinabahala ni Mr. Collin.
"Son.. What are you thinking?" may pangamba sa boses ni Mr. Collin.
"I'm sorry father. Pero hindi ko po mapapalampas ito."
Kaiser's hand clenched. Her jaw tightened. And his eyes glow with so much anger.
