Evangeline

I am in pain. True pain.

His ID read: Amour Charming. Grey eyes. Male. 6'5. Born February 14. Organ Donor.

I glance at Amour, who was examing the books I gave him. His eyes focus on the pages with such intensity, a part of me could see the book lighting up on fire.

My eyes fall back onto his exposed arms, coated with beautiful tattoos. His black shirt doing justice to his muscles, and his hair. Oh heavens, his hair.

"You have good taste Trésor," I snap out of my fantasy, looking into his beautiful grey eyes. "I'll take all of them if that's okay with you?"

"I'll save them for you, whenever you come, even if I'm not available, the staff will know to give them to you."

"You must be close to Cinderella, for you to be her maid of honor?" He asks, licking his lips and holding eye contact.

I won't be surprised if I spontaneously combust.

"Yes, we've been friends since kids," I answered, then frowned slightly. "Unfortunately, I moved before everything happened."

He nods, understanding flashes in his eyes. Of course, he knows the story, he is Henry's brother.

"How come I never met you?"

I raise a brow. By now we were seated in the farthest corner of the library, the white light above us buzzing.

"I should be asking you the same question, I met everyone in the Charming family, except for you,"

He lets out a soft chuckle at my words, flashing me his blinding smile. "You're right Trésor, I'm more of the hidden gem in the family."

"You must be really special then, like a secret weapon?" An unknown emotion flashes on his face before it forms back into a smile.

He winks, "Something like that."

His tone sparks up my interest, but I don't ask any questions, respecting his boundaries. "It was nice to meet the hidden gem, I feel very important."

He looks at me with wide eyes before shaking his head softly. He grabs my extended hand and kisses the back of it. "I'm glad to have met you too Trésor,"

His phone rings, interrupting our silence. I pull my hand away while he gives me an apology, taking out his phone he spoke to the person on the other line in a language I did not understand. The call was short and his emotions changed.

"Again, I apologize Trésor but something happened at work,"

I nod, giving him an understanding smile. "See you tomorrow,"

"I'm counting on it."

"So that was the other charming?" Gus slides over to me, wiggling his brow at me.

"Yeah," I answer shortly, avoiding the eyes of the teenagers.

"What did he want? Are you guys friends now?" Jacques's voice squeaks out in excitement.

"Just some books, I was doing m job helping him."

A new voice came in, "You were undressing him with our eyes." I turn around and glare at the culprit.

"Stop giving the kids ideas Maddy," I scowl, rolling my eyes at the owner's daughter. Maddy pushes her glasses forward and holds onto her book tighter, rolling her eyes at me.
