"I just don't feel like you care!" Ward huffed.

"We said that we do!" Rafe shot back.

"Yeah, you said!"

"Well, what else do you want us to say?!" I asked.

"I don't want you to say anything! I want you to take care of business!"

"We have been!" I argued. "I don't know what else you want from us!"

"You have been, huh?" Ward questioned. "Where are the backup generators?!"

Rafe and I glanced at each other, our Dad sitting across from us, waiting impatiently for an answer.

"I gave you money for the generators and you said you'd take care of it!" He said. "Did you take care of it? Where are they?"

"They're on backorder," Rafe lied, knowing damn well neither of us even considered ordering them.

Ward scoffed. "Yeah, of course, they are,"

"There was a hurricane!" My brother pointed out.

"What are you gonna do? Blame us for that?" I questioned.

"I'll tell you what. You know that Pogue I just fired?" Ward asked.

I furrowed my brows. "John B?"

"John B," He confirmed.

Rafe huffed. "Why are you even bringing him into this conversation?"

"Because he's way more reliable than you two! WAY more reliable!" Ward yelled.

I scoffed. "You've gotta be kidding,"

"No, I'm not kidding Aspyn!" Ward snapped. "You and Rafe have to get it together or you can go live on the cut!"

Rafe chuckled. "Wow,"

"This is a goddamn joke," I muttered.

"Is this funny to you?" Ward asked. "You can go live on the damn cut! Both of you!"

"Now get out of here, I'm sick of looking at you," He spat. "Make yourselves useful somewhere, somehow!"

"This is some bullshit," I huffed, standing up.

"It is!" Rafe agreed. "Sarah's not working!"

"Yeah! We're expected to do everything while Sarah doesn't have to lift a finger!" I said.

"This isn't about Sarah! You're eighteen years old, Aspyn! Rafe, you're almost twenty! You don't just get to sit back and have everything handed to you!"

My brother rolled his eyes. "Yes, sir,"

Ward let out a frustrated sigh. "It doesn't seem like you understand me,"

"We'll take care of the generators, okay?!" I huffed.

He scoffed. "I'll believe that when I see it,"

Rafe and I made our way back into the house, our annoyance evident. I was so sick of Ward expecting everything from us and nothing from Sarah.

"Told you," I heard.

I whipped around to see Sarah. Was she seriously listening to our conversation?

"You shouldn't have bought those motorcycles with the generator money," She said, practically taunting us. Rafe clenched his jaw, walking away.

I stared at the smirk on my sister's face, clenching my fists. It took everything in me not to hit her.

I got into her face. "Don't be a little bitch, princess,"
