Swasti's pov

I went to my office and finished my pending work nd I accept I was removing all my anger on the employees but I seriously can't help.

Divya walked in,my very close friend from school days nd now she is working in KKS companies with her efforts nd is in quite a high position.(Some employees yet had to work on a sunday)

Divya:

Divya:Swasti,can u spare me 45 minutes???

Swasti:Yah divya I'm done with my work nd I'm just free so y not(I smiled abit at her)either ways I don't want to go home(I mumbled the last part looking away)

Divya smiled

Divya:I know u don't want to nd that's y I'm here let's go to McDonald's it's near nd it's even lunch time!

Swasti:Yah sure!

In the car:

Swasti:Btw we haven't book a table nd u know that I'm not allowed to sit publicly So?

Divya:I had book a private table today morning😊

Swasti":Ohh(I just smiled abit I actually don't want to go anywhere but I'm going to McDonald's cause I don't want to go home nd I had no idea where I could go rather than home so this was an opportunity to me nd I simply took it)

We reached McDonald's nd the manager warmly welcomed us nd guided us to a private table.The bodyguards had surrounded McDonald's from outside.

We placed our order nd it came within 10 minutes.

Divya:So,What happened?

Swasti:Umm nothing happened y?(I just kept my focus on food)

Divya:Tell me if I look like a fool to U?(she asked raising one of her eyebrows)

I just looked up nd closed my eyes as I know where this is going to so I just nodded my head as no nd looked At her.

Swasti:Divya there is nothing going on,it's just that I'm tired(I avoided looking at her nd tried my best to lie)

Divya:Ok so u really think I'm a fool.(she sighed)

I just gave up,

Swasti:FINEEE!So today papa asked me about marriage nd I refused nd he said that I'm JUST getting engaged next week,marriage will happen after ONE WHOLE MONTH.I just got numb I mean how can papa decide MY marriage nd engagement without my consent nd on top of it I'm just 23 nd also I don't even know the guy I mean papa just told me he is some yuvraj of Jaipur nd something such but it really hurt me,how can papa decide MY marriage even that JUST next MONTH nd without my CONSENT at least papa should ask me once if I even want to get MARRIED NOW!(I said this as tears made their way down my cheeks)

Divya got up nd came to me nd put her arms around my shoulder

Divya:My god Swasti don't worry it's fine ya please don't cry,c'mon we vl do something!

Swasti:Something what?(I said rubbing my cheeks nd removing the tears)There is nothing we can do divya!I don't even want to go home!

Divya:No problem Swasti take it positively they r ur parents they must have thought nd take this decision ya,don't worry nd I know it's a big turn in ur life but it can also be a change for good ya so cheer up nd u can stay at my home for today alright?

I just nodded

Swasti:I don't know I'm just not getting good vibes about what is coming up!

Divya:Don't worry Swasti!Everything vl be great,nd wait you r getting ENGAGED next week!!We need to go shopping idiot!Nd u r here doing NOTHING!We have to do sooooo many preparations yaar!!!!(she said in a tensed voice)

Swasti:😂😂You are talking as if it's ur engagement next week,and don't worry ma must be calling Mr Malhotra now nd by tomorrow he will even come with thousands of new designs of gowns nd if my bad luck then lehenga's too(actually I love lehengas but the one Mr Malhotra brings r just soo heavy that's y it's a problem)Nd even latest jwellery nd if I'm right then tomorrow we both take a break from work nd u can even see clothes nd jwelleray that u will be wearing in my engagement!

Divya:I'll only look for my clothes nd jwelleray from Mr Malhotra if I'm the one paying

Swasti:Not at all u know na it's a rule that whenever Mr Malhotra comes I give u a gift nd u can't refuse gifts so shut up nd let's go!

I sent papa a message that I'll be at divya's house today,nd I spent the day with divya she seriously cheered me up and I even told her that I yet have insecurities about this engagement,but she really cheered me up well nd I had fun with her the whole time.

The next day

I went home after having breakfast at divya's house since aunty really wanted me to have breakfast then go.Nd divya shared her clothes nd earrings with me so even that was alright.

I entered the door explaining myself to be polite nd keep my voice low

Shikhsha:Swasti!Did u enjoy ur day with divya?

Swasti:Yes ma!it was fun,Where is Papa?

Shikhsha:Terrace

I nodded nd was going up when ma stopped me

Shikhsha:Swasti beta,Yesterday since u said u will be late we had cancelled the meeting nd u talk to ur papa when u want to meet them Ok?Nd since ur engagement is next week Nd we haven't done any preparations so today I've called Mr Malhotra he vl be coming at 4 U call divya also Ok?

Swasti:I DON'T WANT TO MEET THEM and I vl call divya,tell papa that now I vl meet yuvraj directly in my engagement!

I rushed to my room before ma said anything and ya I didn't want to meet the yuvraj because I yet feel that if my parents have decided everything then y should I meet the yuvraj cause I vl cry more if I get to know how bad that yuvraj is so it's better that I cry after marriage only cause half a loaf is better than none same here I'll cry after marriage so until I don't get married lemme enjoy y cry from before?
