Without warning, the boss began to emit a whining, popping, cracking sound like bones popping and scraping against one another. The boss unleashed a blast of energy toward the ceiling. This blast stunned me, keeping me from moving.
A moment later, scraps of metal fell to the ground, along with something else. When it hit the ground, it made a wet crunching splat sound.
I looked over at what fell among the broken scraps.
My eyes went wide.
It was a headless body. Splatters of blood and viscera had splashed on the ground.
I felt dizzy and nauseous, but no matter how much I wanted to look away, I couldn't.
Suddenly, the boss engulfed the headless corpse like it had done before.
This time, it began to curl in on itself like a snake. Its body began to shake and thrash. From its body erupted several massive arm-like protrusions.
From the head of the boss, the headless corpse it subsumed emerged from its putrid flesh. The headless body began to move of its own accord. It placed its hand on the head of the previous corpse.
Then, in one swift motion, ripped the head off the other body.
