Darcy POV After helping with Elizabeth I left for hingam bridge with Bingley to help with everything there with Miss Janes assurance that she would send word if they were needed back at Rosings
~~~Time Skip 7 days later~~~
It has been 7 days since and still no word from Jane and all I can think about is if Elizabeth is alright and if she is up and back to her lively self there are times when I just want to jump on a horse and race straight to Rosings and Elizabeth but alas I cannot I was out checking the perimeter when I saw Miss Jane walk up to Bingley and they began to talk wondering why Jane was here and if she was bringing news of Elizabeth I walked over to them. As I came closer to them I heard Miss Jane saying "it was quite bad" thinking of Elizabeth I stepped up and greeted "Miss Bennett" with a small bow "Mr Darcy" she responded with a smile and a curtsy "Miss Bennett what brings you here? And how is Miss Elizabeth fairing?" I inquired she looked at me and said "I came to deliver supplies from Rosings and to escape Lydia constant need to train since I can no longer hide in Lizzy's room-"she stated with tired sad eyes that made me think the worst with that I interrupted her and asked "why would you be hiding in Miss Elizabeths room?" "After you left Elizabeth contracted a fever and has been unconscious for many days and as to your question on how Lizzy is why don't you ask her yourself " she said pointing to where stood Elizabeth herself

handing over some supplies to a few soldiers smiling I felt Bingleys hand on my shoulder I looked at him and he said "go to her Darcy I have everything here and no one here will bother you on propriety seeing as these are the same men whom saw you two at the time of the explosion in fact there are bets on how long before you purpose to Miss Elizabeth" I looked at him with astonishment he just smiled and laughed Jane then said "Mr Darcy go to her before Mr Bingley looses his bet" she said with a smile and at that moment I forbode all propriety and strode over to Elizabeth leaving a smiling Bingley and Jane in my wake when I reached Elizabeth I she looked up and when she saw me she smiled and walked over to me I noticed that she had a slight limp on her right leg I immediately took steps to meet her half way so she did not have to walk so far I was only slightly aware of people watching us no doubt wonder if they won or lost the bet "Miss Bennett" I greeted "Mr Darcy" she responded "it seems as though you've been mended" she said "I am thank you. You seem to be doing better how is your injury?" I asked "much better thank you" was her response I then took a step closer "if it wasn't for you I would have surely parishes what you said to me on the bridge" she looked at me with surprise "you heard me?" She asked "I did and it gave me hope that your feelings towards me may have changed however one word from you now will silence me on the subject forever you are the love of my life Elizabeth Bennett I ask you now half in anguish half in hope will you do me the great great honor of taking me for your husband?" She looked at me for a moment before a smile spread across her lips as she nodded her head and whispered "yes" just loud enough to hear at that moment I no longer cared about the onlookers and leaned in and kissed her wrapping my arms around her waist and pulling her closer to me she responded by wrapping her arms around my neck
And in that moment it was just the two of us I was only faintly aware of the cheers erupting from all around us we pulled apart and smiled at each other I then picked her up and spun her around in the air me smiling and her joyful laughter I set her down gently because of her leg with her still in my arms we then turn to see Jane and Bingley walking over to us "congratulations you two you really are perfect for each other" Bingley said while giving me a hand on my shoulder Jane smiled and said "congratulations I really do hate to do this but Lizzy we must be going if we wish to make it back before dark and you know how mother will be if we are not" "of course we must be off" my Lizzy replied Elizabeth then took my arm and we walked over to the horses with Jane and Bingley her using my arm for support as she walked because of her leg we reached the horses I quickly kissed her one last time then helped her onto her horse "Be careful my Lizzy I shall see you soon safe travels" I said while holding onto the reigns and a hand on her leg she smiled and nodded saying she would be careful I then let go of the reigns and her and Jane took off towards Rosings I stood there with Bingley until we could no longer see them I would be going back to Rosings tomorrow so I would see her then but I know one thing for sure was until then every moment here would be agonizing Bingley and I then turned when we could no longer see them and went to do anything to help that night the last thing on my mind was how I had become the happiest man on earth because I was going to marry my lively, witty, beautiful, and deadly Elizabeth.
