Before you begin reading the first chapter (yay!), I'd like to thank a few people:

First and foremost, a huge thank you to two of my best friends in the world, whom we will address as Y and E for privacy's sake. Thank you so much for always humouring me as I try to brainstorm, for always saying fantastic things about my work to boost my confidence, for always being glad to discuss the plot of The Lady Lockhart with me, and for pointing out my typos when you see them. Thank you for encouraging me to share my work but always reassuring me that I can take my time to upload / publish. This entire shebang would not have been possible without you.

Also, thank you to my mom for listening to me describe the entire plot of the book. (Although you're very busy, you probably weren't that interested and think there are better genres I can invest my time in.)
