Today is prom. Oh my Irene. I'm at Aphmau's with Katelyn and well... Aphmau, getting ready. Aphmau and Garroth are going, and Katelyn and Jeffory.

Aphmau was fussing over my hair, and I groan like a thousand times. "You know I could be able to finish if you'd just stay still!"

"Sorry I just don't want you to touch my hair," I pouted.

"You know it's really weird having you with emotions," Katelyn stated.

"Like I don't already know," I rolled my eyes.

"Annnnd! Done!" Aphmau squealed. I looked in the mirror to see (hair style). I smiled.

"Thanks Aph!"

"Hehehe, no problem!"

"Looks good," Katelyn smiled, "so how's the delinquent?"

"My boyfriend?" I stared at her.

"Yeah, him." She nodded.

"He's fine. He's been acting kind of weird lately... I think he knows something I don't."

"He better not propose!" Aph scolded. I snorted, and shook my head.

"No, I don't think that's it. It's really hard to explain."

"APHMAU!!! You're dates are here!" Aphmau's mom yelled.

"Oh! C'mon guys let's go!" She smiled, dragging us downstairs.

I saw Aaron standing next to the other boys in a tux... well, that's nicer than normal. "Hello!" I smiled walking over to him, giving him a peck on the cheek. He took my hand smiling.

"You look beautiful," he smiled. I felt my cheeks warm up.

"You don't look so bad yourself." I looked down.

"You all ready?" My mom asked. I nodded. She gave me a sad smile, and hugged me. "I love you sweetheart."

"I know mom. You've said that fifty times today," I laughed.

"I'm just so proud!!!" She smiled.

"Shall we be going?" Aaron asked. I nodded.

"Yeah." We walked out of the house holding hands, quietly.

"Are you nervous?" He asked.

"Never been to a dance before... what's it like?"

"I wouldn't know," he chuckled. I bit my lip.

"So we're both in the same boat here then?"

"Guess so," he smiled.

When we got there I immediately dragged him onto the dance floor for the first slow dance. The whole time he kept tripping over my feet, but it just made him look adorable.

After like two songs he asked to sit down. So, reluctantly, I agreed. I sat down with him. "Is something wrong?" I asked.

"Well... I wanted to talk to you tonight. I never expected a dance to be this... this-"

"Boring?" I sighed.

"Yeah." He looked down.

"Well, the rest of the school's still open to wander a bit. Any place you'd like to go?"

"Would you mind going to the band room with me?"

"No. Not at all." I smiled. We walked to the band room, quietly. He shut the door behind us and we sat against the wall. "Why'd you want to talk to me?"

"Well, your mom asked me to... you're uh... moving." He looked down

"What?" I whispered.

"She says she can't live here anymore."

"B-But all my friends are here, I just got better. You're here!"

"I know..."

"When do I leave?"

"Tomorrow," he sighed. I felt bitter tears roll down my cheeks.

"Please don't cry." He pulled me into a hug.

"I love you!" I cried. He stiffened up for a moment, but then eased a bit.

"I love you, too. But you need to take care of your mom. She needs you."

"And I need you too!" I quivered. He pulled away.

"Can I play a song for you?" He asked. I nodded whipping away tears. "Please come in if you'd like to join." He picked up a guitar and started tuning it. He smiled at me.

"Never thought that we would end up here
Should've known it from the start
I know you mean it when you say you love me
But we're trying way too hard

Used to think that we would last forever
How could I've been so wrong?
Never thought I'd be the one to say this
What if our time has come and gone?

You, you don't mean no harm
But you're stringin' me along and I don't have the time to spare
And I, I'm trying hard to breathe
But you're suffocating me, this time I'm coming up for air

Air, air, air, air, air, air
Air-air-air-air-air-air-air-air

Always try'na put your two cents in
Then expecting me to change
Tried to fix me up but I'm not broken
All you do is leave me stained

Told you not to tie me down too quickly
Take it slow, it's not a race
And you keep on try'na reel me in but
All I really need is space

You, you don't mean no harm
But you're stringin' me along and I don't have the time to spare
And I, I'm trying hard to breathe
But you're suffocating me, this time I'm coming up for air

Air, air, air, air, air, air
Air-air-air-air-air-air-air-air
Air, air, air, air, air, air
Air-air-air-air-air-air-air-air."

He stopped playing. "Why'd you stop?" I asked.

"I... I don't know." He checked the clock... maybe we should get you home."

"But we've only been here for fifteen minutes," I checked the clock.

"You might want to pack... I'll help-"

"No. That's fine I'll do it myself." I stood up and left.

Did I do something? Say something? Why does he seem so rushed I'm leaving tomorrow and he doesn't want to spend time with me? Typical. He probably doesn't like me anyways.

I quickly started running, and I could hear him yelling, trying to keep up with me, but I started running faster. Tears running down my face he doesn't love me. I knew this was just a dream... now I just need to wake up.

I ran into the house, slamming the door shut, and running up to my room. I started throwing everything into suitcases and boxes, angry tears running down my cheeks.

I suddenly wanted to leave, and then never come back. Which is exactly what I plan on doing.
