The three shifters made it back to Sam's in record time, just under seven minutes. They didn't see anyone outside, but their keen scenes made them able to hear the loud voices of the pack inside the small one floored house. Jacob, in the lead, rushed into the Uley him first with the Clearwater siblings right on his tail. They moved so eagerly and quickly that they almost broke the front door. Jacob was the first to enter the living room, seeing all his former pack members scattered around the small living room when his eyes landed on her.

Slouched in an armchair sat his grandmother with a mug in her hand and a smile etched on her face. He couldn't help but just stare at her for a moment. She still had the same comforting silver eyes, the same curly black locks, the same snow-white skin, the same youthful glow to her, the same heartwarming smile, and the same old scar on her left cheek that went from the corner of her lip to her ear, but most of all she still had the same old red cloak.

"Are you not gonna give your old granny a hug?" Her voice was soft and loving. Sam, who was sitting next to her, took her now empty cup of tea out of her hands and made his way to the kitchen. Red said a quick "thank you" to him over her shoulder and then turned back to Jacob and got to her feet and held her arms open wide for him.

And despite the fact that he was much older now and no longer a child, he was quick to be engulfed by her pale arms. She still smelt of gingerbread and the woods. The scent was comforting. "I missed you." Jacobs words were muffled by Red's thick hair, but he knew that she had heard him as she whispered back to him softly. "I missed you to my cub."

When they pulled away from the embrace, Red kept her pale hands on Jacobs russet-coloured shoulders "Let me look at you" she took a moment to look over her grandson to take him in much like he had done seeing her.

"Uh... You've grown up so fast cub. Tho I've heard stories about you by these lot.." she let him go and gestured to the pack around them that only gave back small laughs and awkward smiles, Red continued, "..about your imprint and her family, the cold ones." Jacobs's heart hammered in his chest as he felt a wave of nausea and anxiety wash over him, and he couldn't help but think that perhaps his grandmother would be disappointed or worse mad that he had imprinted on a cold one despite the fact she herself was a vampire but merely a different kind. Jake knew most of the pack didn't like the way things went down with the Cullen's. Or the Cullen's in general for that matter, and yet none of their opinions mattered to him, but Red's did.

It mattered to everyone what she thought. She was the oldest member of the tribe. Red had earned respect from everyone who knew the story's. After all that she had done for their tribe it was the least they could offer her. To have her disappointed in him would kill him. "And I can't wait to meet her." With those words, Jacob felt his entire being calm. And just by the way she smiled at him, he knew that she was genuinely happy for him, and he was quickly hugging her again just out of pure happiness.

For the majority of the evening, each member of their small party took turns to tell Grandma Red about what had happened over the years down at La push and introduced her properly to new imprints going over everything that Red had missed while she was away. In turn, Red told them about her friends and adventurer in New Orleans and in Mystic Falls, where vampires like her had their own problems. That night was perfect, and for once in a long time, the residents of La Push were at peace.

It was 9:30 pm, and Jacob was about to head off back to the Cullen home to go and see Renesme just like he had promised. Even though his grandmother was here and he hadn't seen her in a very long time, Jacob had told his imprint he would come back, and so he would. Jacob had just gotten out of the Uley's back door and three feet away from the house when he heard his name being called by an all to familiar, soft voice. The shifter quickly turned around, spotting his grandmother standing there with her hood down and her pale face glowing in the moonlight.

"Hey Grams. I'm about to head off. What are you doing out here?" Jacob smiled, but he speared a glance around them for a quick second, observing that they were completely alone. Red only smiled at her grandson "I just wanted to tell you I'm happy for you, I know what those animals are like," she laughed a little, the bell-like sound being carried by the wind. "You have found your imprint, which is a special and magical thing..." Red trailed off for a moment, tilting her head ever so slightly, "You remind me so much of your grandfather."

There was nostalgia in Reds' voice as she babbled on to Jacob, and she moved so that she was stood closer to him. Jacob could only give her a sad smile as he saw the all too familiar glaze in her silver eyes. Everyone knew that she would often get like this when she spoke of Jacobs grandfather, she may be a vampire and have had many lovers after him but everyone knew that Arthur Black would always hold a permanent place in old Reds heart.

"Thank you, Grandma," Jacob knew that was a compliment of high regard, Arthur Black was a good man, a protector to be put in the same category as he was to be an honour from Jacobs perspective anyways. Red rolled her eyes, laughing a little. "You know it makes me feel old when you call me that," Jacob chuckled, shaking his head and giving her a sarcastic smile "well you are old Grams." Red nodded her head slightly in agreement, still smiling up at him. He wasn't wrong. Red was very old.

After a moment, she shook her head, "I wanted to give you this," she reached into one of her pockets and pulled out a small leather brown book. "I was told your soulmate was a young girl, and I thought she might be interested in this." He carefully took it out of her cold, pale hands. He flicked through the ages book gently, "It was mine when I was newly turned. It has all the stories I grew up with. Along with the legend and tales of the tribe."

Since he was slightly taller than her, he looked down to see her smiling at him warmly. He pulled her into another hug. He thanked her and promised that they would catch up properly tomorrow before he dashed off to be with his imprint, present in hand.
