Alex walked into the dorm room

"Zoey?" He called for the girl, no answer

She was still at class

Alex instantly grabbed his phone from his back pocket then texted clay

Hey are you in class?

Clay
Nope I just got out

Alex
Ok I need you to tell me things Zoey does when she's lying

Alex phone started ringing he answered Clays call

"Is she okay?" Clay asked and Alex laughed "she's fine, it's just..she feels weird about the Josh guy and I told her to come to me when she feels not safe and I need to know if she'd lie to me" Alex said and Clay calmed himself down

"Did he like..touch her or anything?" Clay asked "no, he's trying to be nice to her and she said she doesn't trust that" Alex explained "ok..well, when she's lying she plays with her fingers and it's hard for her to make eye contact, she also does this thing when she plays with her hair" Clay said and Alex smiled weakly "just marry her already" Alex joked "ha. ha. Anyway, she's okay right now?" Clay asked "stop panicking, she's fine"  Alex said "ok" clay said "I'll talk to you soon, if anything happens" Alex said "ok, talk to you soon" clay said

They hung up and Zoey walked in making Alex quickly turn around the door

"Hey" Zoey said "uh, hey" Alex tried playing it cool "why are you being so weird?" Zoey asked and laughed "no reason..I need to get something to eat so I'll be right back" Alex said and Zoey furrowed her eyebrow "ok" she said and Alex walked out

Once Alex got to the food court he looked around

His eyes landing on the devil himself

Alex took a deep breath and walked up to the boy

"Hey! Standall!" Josh spoke and Alex sighed "stay away from Zoey okay?" Alex snapped and Josh laughed "how pissed in your cereal?" Josh joked "I'm serious..you barely even know us, we've been through a lot and I don't need you messing up anything" Alex said "why are you so protective over her?" Josh asked and Alex stared at him

Alex mind started running, he didn't want to expose her past, he didn't even want to talk about their past

"Because I'm her..." Alex stopped "not her boyfriend...her best friend" Josh said "I'm her brother" her blurted

God that was so stupid

Alex thought

"That's where you lied. Why is your last name Standall and hers is Carson?" Josh asked and Alex froze instantly coming up with a reasonable lie

"We have different dads, give her a break dickhead" Alex said and walked away

Josh looked at the boy and scoffed

Alex walked back into dorm

"Um...where's the food? I hoping to get some" Zoey joked "Listen...please don't get mad" Alex started and Zoey sat up "what?" Zoey asked "I told josh to leave you alone and he asked me why was I so protective over you..and I didn't want to explain our past so I told him that I was your brother and that we have different dads" Alex blurted and Zoey smiled "well, that went well didn't it?" Zoey asked "so your not mad?" Alex asked "no, why would I be mad? You were sticking up for me" she said and Alex nodded

On the other hand, Josh was planning something

"So, Zoey isn't off limits?" Caleb asked "she is! I said I'm going for her" Josh said "fine" Jaden scoffed "then who will I get?" Kevin asked "who cares! Anyone except for Zoey" Josh said "we know!" Max said "but what about her brother? Didn't he say to leave her alone and that they've been through a lot?" Sam asked "sam...this is why you're not in the group..." Josh said "leave" Josh snapped "but-" they cut sam off "leave" Josh snapped and Sam got up and walked out, slamming the door behind him on the way out

Zoey heard a knock on her dorm room

She looked over at Alex to see him asleep, she stood up and opened the door to see a boy in a letterman jacket, chills ran down her back

"Sorry for the certain pop up but have something very important to tell you" the boy said while looking back on forth between the hall "and what's that?" Zoey asked "I need to come in to tell you.." he said and Zoey furrowed her eyebrows "I know it sounds weird, but please you have to hurry" he said and Zoey opened the door letting him in

She looked over at Alex to see him stir in his sleep

She was planning on waking him up but she knew he needed the sleep

"What is it?" She asked "sorry-I'm sam, but that's not the point. So I was just with Josh and  the boys he was telling everyone that you were off limits because he was coming for you, I don't know what that means. But I guess he likes you..." sam said making Zoeys stomach drop "wait, wait, wait. How can I trust you? You can be apart of this whole plan" Zoey said "you don't have to believe me, but I'm just warning you..." he said and Zoey looked in his eyes

It didn't have any devilish look, no tricks

"Why are you telling on him if you're a frat?" Zoey challenged the boys "I don't want to be a frat, but my twin brother max wants to...he makes me come along but they don't like when I do-because I do things like this" he said "like what?" She asked "like ruin their plans, I worked my ass off to find your dorm just to tell you this, it was all a secret plan-" sam got cut off by his phone ringing he looked down to see Josh's name on the ID caller

He answered and looked up at Zoey

"Where are you it's late" sam had put Josh on speaker "I uh, went for a walk. You kicked me out anyway" Sam said "well, we need your brains for this plan" Josh said "talk me into the plan first" sam said and Zoey furrowed her eyebrows as she walked back and forth

"I'll let you go out with Zoey for one day straight" Josh said making Zoey freeze and look up at the boy

Alex eyes soon fluttered open

He adjusted his eyes onto sam

As she was about to speak Zoey covered his mouth with her hand as Josh spoke

"Ok deal" sam said and Zoey glared at the boy and he hung up

"What the fuck do you mean deal?" Zoey asked "listen, I have a plan" sam said "who is he?" Alex asked
