CELIA SPED WALKED TO THE EMBASSY'S FRONT DOORS. She had the day off, but Penelope had called her as she was eating her lunch at home. Just from hearing her voice and the ruckus in the background, it sounded like they needed Celia to come in. After dodging other employees in the lobby, Celia reached the elevators and got into one. She fixed the slipping strap of her bag while she impatiently pressed the button to her floor. When the elevator doors didn't close, Celia kept pressing the button to close the doors.

"You know if you keep pressing it like that the elevator is not going to move any faster." Javier's voice came from beside her as he entered the elevator. Celia jumped a little upon hearing his voice.

"Fuck you, you scared me," Celia said breathlessly as she leaned back against one of the elevator walls. "You got called in too?"

Javier laughed at her words and had wanted to give a witty reply, but decided against it. "No, I've been here since early this morning. I just went out for lunch." Javier said as he looked down at his feet.

Celia looked at Javier curiously as he avoided her gaze. Either way, it wasn't her business what he did and didn't do on his said lunch. Instead, she moved her gaze away from him and watched the elevator doors close. The hum of the machine moving filled the silence inside the elevator for a second.

"How bad is it?"

"Bad. Pablo Escobar just kidnapped a handful of people and not just anybody. They're the kids of some of the most influential people here in Colombia." Javier briefly explained as the elevator began to slow down upon arriving at their floor.

A bit of panic set in for Celia upon hearing Pablo Escobar had kidnapped people. On the other hand, those kidnapped were children of influential people in Colombia. Celia was far from that. She believed if Pablo knew about her, they wouldn't waste their time kidnapping her. Pablo would have her simply killed. Still, Celia knew she was never going to be safe until Escobar is dead.

Celia soon found out what Javier said was right. It was bad. Upon the doors parting open, Celia witnessed the chaos ensuing on their floor. Employees from both governments whiz by. The rest who weren't running around were on the phone or talking to another employee. Javier got pulled away the moment he stepped out of the elevator. Celia stepped out after him. She stood there for a few seconds before Penelope grabbed her by the hand. Her coworker began to drag her over to the conference rooms.

"Thank God you're here." Penelope breathed out in relief as she pushed Celia into a conference room with a notepad and a pen.

Inside the conference room, multiple people were arguing and did not notice Celia had walked in. Steve and Javier then showed up on either side of her.
