1991

CELIA GASPED FOR AIR AS SHE WAS PULLED OUT. She sputtered out some water before roughly coughing. Her lungs and nasal canal burned from the water. Her wet hair stuck to her face as she turned her head to the side to glare at Marina. Celia was building anger towards her. It had felt like it had been hours since they've been dunking Celia's head repeatedly into water. Marina had her kneel on the cold concrete floor by a bathtub. They'd dunk her head in and hold her down. They'd keep her in long enough for her to see black begin to seep into her vision before pulling her out. The men would barely give her a break to catch her breath again. Just as the black began to fade from her vision, they'd dunk her right back in.

"Si se trata de Gustavo, puedes tenerlo. Ya puedo decir que ustedes dos serán perfectos el uno para el otro." Celia said with a hoarse voice after they'd just pulled her out. The men still roughly held onto Celia's hair at the back of her head.

"Otra vez." Marina directed her words to the men as she glared back at Celia.

They complied and dunked Celia's head back into the tub full of water. Celia pulled at the rope that bound her wrists as she instinctively tried to free her hands to pull herself out. She flailed in their arms, her actions pleading to them to pull her out. Marina watched from across the room with a cruel smile decorating her lips. As black dots began to dance across her vision again, Celia wasn't being pulled out. Celia writhed in the grasps of the men even more. From under the water, she could hear voices. Celia couldn't make out what they were saying as they sounded distorted. She knew it. They were going to finally drown her. They were going to kill her.

Celia was about to let the water fill her lungs, but she was pulled out. It wasn't by the men with Marina though. She realized it was by Gustavo.

"Celia... Celia, mírame." Gustavo tried to get Celia to not pass out as he gently turned her on her side. He cradled a weak coughing Celia in his arms as he shouted Marina. "¿Estás loca?"

"Tu esposa está muerta. Todo lo que quedaba era que te des hicieras de esa estúpida perra pero no la matarías así que adivina qué? Lo hago por ti." Marina stated as she approached Gustavo and tried to pull him away from Celia.

Gustavo pulled away from Celia when he realized she could hold herself up on her own. He turned and shoved Marina back before standing up.

"¡Hice que mataran a mi esposa para estar con Celia, no contigo!" Gustavo argued with Marina. "¡Cuando te dije que no quería estar contigo no era para que pudieras secuestrar a Celia!"
