Hinata sat against the wall, taking a break from training. He looked down at the ground, slightly bopping his head to the song that had been stuck in his head for a while. A full day had passed since the practice game with Nekoma, the team had been practicing just as hard and Ukai had even organised a practice match with his neighbourhood team.
"Hey Hinata!" Yachi smiled, approaching the carrot top with Yamaguchi beside her. The two sat down next to him as Hinata greeted them with a big grin.
"Hey! I thought you were helping Kiyoko-senpai, did you finish?" Hinata asked and Yachi hummed while nodding in response.
"Oy! Everyone gather!" Daichi ordered as he clapped his hands to get everyone's attention. Everyone did what they were told to do and gathered. Ukai told them what they had to work on and after the discussion everyone packed up before heading to eat dinner.
"All right, all of you once you've eaten head outside." Ukai ordered after he finished eating with Takeda following close behind him. Yachi and Kiyoko then followed after the two adults as the rest of the team was left behind to clean up.
The team did as they were told and headed outside. There Yachi and Kiyoko pulled out packets of fireworks (or sparklers) with big smiles plastered on their faces. "Good work today everyone!!" The two females said in unison. The team looked at their managers with delight, stars sparkling in their eyes.
"Kiyoko-San!! You're the best!" Tanaka and Nishinoya cried, dramatically crying at their third-year manager.
"Thanks, Yachi! This is awesome!!" Hinata exclaimed running up to the blonde and grabbing some fireworks from her. The rest of the team joined in, grabbing a packet each and lighting them up. They all then grabbed a firework each and lit them up, running around and waving them around.
"You guys better thank Ukai for this!" Takeda smiled, watching the teenagers run around.
"Yes sir!" The team exclaimed as they proceeded to have fun with the fireworks.
"Wait Hinata come over here! My mother taught me something," Yachi said as she bought out her phone, "draw something, a circle will do."
Hinata raised an eyebrow and did as he was instructed as Yachi took a photo as soon as he had finished drawing the circle. Yachi smiled at the picture and walked up to the ginger head showing him the image. Sparkles shined in Hinata's brown orbs as he gasped in awe.
"That's so cool Yachi!!" He exclaimed and turned to the other players, "guys! Look!!"
Curious, the other members approached the two and looked at the picture. Their reactions were quiet similar to Hinata, just minus the sparkles in their eyes. "Yachi, can you do one with me? This is so cool!!" Yamaguchi asked.
"Ah! Me too!" Nishinoya yelled waving his firework around.
"Count me in as well!!" Tanaka exclaimed doing the same thing as Nishinoya.
"Then why don't we all have a photo together? We can all do them!" Yachi suggested with a bright smile on her face. Hinata grinned at Yachi in awe.
"You're so smart Yachi!!" He complimented as the other members smiled. They all got new fireworks and lit them up, they then quickly got together and had decided to write the team's name. They had eight members write the name while the others waved their fireworks, drawing shapes.
The photo was taken, and they looked at the results. The team cheered at the brilliant photo which was clearly to their liking. Hinata stared at the photo with a smile, he gripped the firework in his hand tightly and he couldn't help but laugh.
It had been so long since he had felt so happy, so relieved of the pain that had cursed him.
"Hey Yachi, do you think you can get that printed?" Hinata asked and the blonde nodded in response, "could you give me a copy?"
"Sure! I'll give everyone a copy too!" She said.
"Thanks, Yachi! You're the best!" Hinata exclaimed as Yachi ran off to ask Takeda if there was a printer in the building or not. Sometime after playing around with the fireworks, Kiyoko and Sugawara had brought out a table and placed snacks on them.
"Here you guys go! Be sure to thank Takeda-sensei!" Sugawara smiled as the team quickly dug in while happily conversing with one another and playing around with the fireworks.
"Everyone! I have the photo! There's a copy for everyone!" Yachi smiled.
"Thanks, Yachi!" Ennoshita smiled as the team gathered, taking a copy of the photo they had just taken.
Dunno why everyone's so worked up over a simple photo... Tsukishima thought staring at the photo in his grasp with the same neutral expression he always wore. His honey brown eyes landed on Hinata's big bright grin, and he couldn't help but frown, remembering what he had said to the small tangerine in class. Ahh, whatever... I'm better off just being teammates with that tangerine than being friends. He thought.
"Is something wrong Tsukki?" Yamaguchi asked, noticing that the taller male had been staring at the photo for some time.
"No..." Tsukishima trailed as he turned around and took a seat on the stairs leading to the building. Yamaguchi watched him do so and he turned around. I wonder if he's upset about what happened with Hinata. He thought and looked at Hinata who was laughing and talking with Nishinoya and Tanaka.
Tsukishima sat down by the stairs watching everyone have fun, he looked back down at the photo and sighed. I guess... I should... he thought and put the photo into his pocket and stood back up to get a snack from the table.
