Just as I predicted, people were asking questions. Students at Forks High were curious about why I was on my own and not with my family. I remained stoic to the best of my ability, but even as a vampire I wasn't immune to stress and anxiety. I felt even more alone because Riley wasn't with me since he graduated. So, most of the time I would sit by myself at lunch and keep to myself as much as I could.

I was grateful I still had Riley, and because of him I wasn't completely alone. Whenever he had a few days free from school, he would come to my house to visit me and keep me company; and that's one of the things that made me love him even more, he was so considerate and kind.

"Has anyone in your family tried to call you?" he asked me one day. We were spending the day in Seattle, because I had gotten a hotel room to visit him between classes. "No, and it's been months," I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration. "Alice sends a text from time to time," I added with a shrug.
"I'm sorry you're going through this, Lil. I'm here for you." he held my hand. I grinned, "Thank you, Riley."
