Nick leads me onto the dance floor with a smirk and a dark look in his eyes that I don't quite recognize. He turns me around and I feel his hard body push up behind me, a muscular arm wrapping around my waist and pulling me back into him. I lean into his embrace and begin moving my hips to the music.  Closing my eyes, I let the rhythm and the feel of Nicks body wrapped around mine hypnotize me.  This is where I'm meant to be, I think to myself. Wrapped in his arms.

Nick moves his hand to tuck my long hair behind my shoulder and leans his face down to my ear. The caress of his breath on my neck gives me goosebumps. "I like this skirt" he says, his hands moving over my hips as I dance.. I turn around to face him, wrapping my arms around his neck and smile. Nick gives me a small smile in return before licking his bottom lip. The small gesture has my eyes zeroed in on his mouth and I find myself silently begging him to kiss me.

Nick slowly tilts his head down towards my face..

"Yo!"

I turn my head quickly to the side and see Liam.

"Shit. Sorry. I hope I didn't interrupt" he says scratching the back of his neck.

He most definitely interrupted.

"What's up Liam?" I say with a sigh, removing my arms from around Nick.

"Well Uh, Marley told me to have you meet her in the bathroom. Something about a fashion emergency."

"Ok" I nod and look back at Nick.
"Go ahead" he says "I'll wait for you with Liam at the table"

..

I walk into the bathrooms but Marley isn't here so I pull out my phone and text her: "I'm in the bathroom, where are you?"

Sighing I turn and look at my reflection in the mirror. My cheeks are pink. My eyes wide and bright. What am I doing, I think. I stare at myself a moment longer. "You are not falling in love with Nick Parker" I tell my reflection. "I will not fall in love with Nick Parker" I repeat out loud. I spent the last several years wondering after Nick, missing him and searching for him. Meanwhile Nick spent the last several years trying to forget me. He's made it clear he is only willing to be friends, and barely even that. But the problem is, that if theres one thing I know for sure, it's that Nick has the ability to really truly break my heart.

"Nick is you're friend" I say to my reflection, "that's it."

"That is so not it"

I turn and see Marley leaning against the door, smirking at me. "Lying to yourself, I see."

Marley pushes off the wall and comes to stand beside me in front of the mirror. She's standing even a few inches shorter than before, and I look down and realize she's shoeless. "Uh, where are your shoes?"

Marley leans closer towards the mirror, checking her eye liner and using a fingertip to wipe away a smudge. "My damn heel broke. The cheap bastards"

I frown. "What are you going to do?"

"Nothing to be done" Marley shrugs. "I tried walking around barefoot but the bouncer told me put on shoes or leave. I guess it's that's whole no shoes no shirt no service thing." She rolls her eyes "ridiculous"

I laugh "yeah, totally ridiculous."

Marley nudges me "You should stay though"

"You're my ride, remember?"

Marley struts towards the door and says "I'm sure Nick is available." She exits the bathroom with a wink.

..

I find Nick sitting alone at the table, apparently Marley and Liam already left. "Do you mind giving me a ride home?" I ask. "My ride has apparently already left without me"

"No problem. Now?"

I shrug, "this place is pretty loud and getting packed"

Nick stands and holds out his hand "Let's go somewhere else"

I take his hand and follow him out of the club.
