CHAPTER - 2 (ADRIAN)

"Bang bang bang" after three shots a deafening silence consumed the whole room. I looked down at the man who was once our most of the trusted man but sold some precious or important information to our rivals for few thousand and now lying lifeless on the floor. I turn around and looked at all my men deadly in the eye and said " No one who dares to betray me lives, NO ONE" with that I walked out of the room  in the basement which I call torture room.

I was about to enter my room when I got a phone call... It was Nick a.k.a Nikolas my right hand man
I picked up the phone and he addressed me "ACE" everyone in underworld addresses me as ACE .
Without wasting any time he starts speaking  and said " I got the information about the man that Max was saying got our money. His name is Jason Winter." I checked my watch while listening and told him " Send me all the details about the man. I'll decide how get our money out of him" and then disconnect the call.
I reek of blood so I took a cold shower and went to sleep.
I woke up after two hours and worked on my laptop then one of the servents came to inform me about the dinner. Few minutes later I was sitting at the dining table eating my dinner peacefully, when Nick came and gave me the file on Jason Winter as I asked him to. I was about to read the file when my grandfather Francis Russo interrupted me " What is this ?" He asked to which I answered " Nothing it's just a file on Jason Winter, since I'm gonna kill him for not returning our money on time. I decided to dig a little information about him." He nodded in understanding " When do you plan to 'visit' him?" He asked. " Tomorrow evening. Since I have to pick Nick's brother collage tomorrow." I said without looking at him or do I say ignoring him and started eating my dinner after  finishing my plate and was about to get up when my grandfather again interrupted "Don't worry about Jason's matter I'll visit him. You will attend tomorrow's meeting." He ordered to which I internally groan because I cannot stand anyone ordering me around but I cannot deny him, it's not because I'm afraid of him but because I respect him alot. He was the only reason I'm standing here alive or he made me what I am today. So, I agreed and left.

                                    (Next Day)

It was about 1 in the afternoon when me and Nick reached Stephen's ( Nick's brother)College  to pick him. We were waiting outside the gate at our usual spot inside the car but he was nowhere to seen. After 15 minutes when he didn't come out. We got out of the car and decided to check the campus meanwhile Nick called him and put the call on speaker..... after three rings he picked up. Nick instantly asked him his whereabouts. But something made us stop in our tracks. Well something or should I say someone....it was a feminine voice I turned around and looked at Nick who was equally puzzled. He asked her about his brother and she told him to come towards the cafeteria quickly.

5 minutes later we reached cafeteria and found Stephen sitting there alone clutching his right hand, he looked like he's in pain. Nick saw him and took a seat besides him while inspecting him of any other injury.

Before I could've asked what happened I heard same feminine voice...this time more clearly... saying " Steph you better take these pain killers or else I'm taking you to the doctor right now!" In a warning tone.... still didn't noticed me and Nick she again called Stephen's name this time she looked up "Steph are even listeni..." She stopped in mid sentence when she noticed us. And I turned around  to see her properly.

She's a brunette with long wavy hairs which reach her lower back. She's got medium skin tone and is about 5'5 in height she's wearing a black simple top and Jeans and a denim shirt as an upper layer.

She looked at us once the head towards where Stephen was sitting and fixed him with a stern look and pass him the water and medicines to which Stephen said " If I tell you that my brothers are here to take home and I promise you that I'll take rest, will you put the medicines aside?"to which she said very sternly "Not a chance. Now stop acting like a toddler take your medicine and give me your botany manual. Since tomorrow is the last day of college and you wouldn't be able to write your assignment so I'll do it for you." She said the last part quietly.

Then Nick cleared his throat to get their attention which he successfully did then Stephen explained what happened and then introduced her to us "Brother this is Hazel my classmate and a very good friend and Hazle this is my elder brother Nickolas" she said hi in a sweet tone "And this is Adrian." He said to which she turned to look at me that was the first time she has looked at me since she came back with water and medicines. As she looked up.

Her eyes met mine, my heart almost skipped a beat, almost. There lies the most beautiful brown eyes I have ever seen. Her eyes mirrored purity, innocence and kindness.
I snapped back to reality by her voice. And left without saying anything.

I reached home then got ready for the meeting that my grandfather told me to attend.
