Where is Tash?

She's the only reason I'm still here at this job the amount of ill-mannered and unconscionable people I deal with in a day is ridiculous. I expect nothing better it's Kingston, people rich and hype.

And then you have this other set of nice people that asks about your day, leaves you tips, and don't make a scene with their overly hyped attitude.

One of the workers almost got fired for answering back to one of the customer's smart answers. But, doing a job like mine or any job relating to the one I do in regards to having interactions with customers there is always that one stupid rule you have to keep remembering; the customers are always right. It's honestly stupid and unfair. But, everyone reaches their breaking point at a time I wonder when I'll reach mine. I hope it's not any time soon. Some of these people is like, they are specifically placed on Earth to push your buttons or find out how many of them you have even the ones that don't exist.

I sigh walking away from the tables I'm done wiping. I'm just glad I don't have any more to wipe for the next few hours.

The door opens signaling the entry of someone. I look up and see Tash. Her face beamed seeing me. We both embraced each other in a hug.

"girl last night did bad," she exclaimed releasing me. walking towards the counter, the semi-loud sound of her flip-flops echoed throughout the room.

"A wahm?" I asked attention now fully averted towards her. Following her to the locker room where our bags are.

"Suh mi did end up gah di party and everything right? Now mi did expect fi see him caaz wi did plan from di day before seh afta him oman gaan him did ago come wid mi a di party and wi would a end up guh back dung a fi him house"

Tash always have drama following her and shi eva full up a vibes nah lie mi love Har.

"him ago diss me and show up wid him oman and pan top a it gwan like him nuh know mi. It bun mi essi" That's crazy.

"suh him show up wid di gyal afta him done tell you yes a you and him?"
Translation:"so he showed up with the girl after telling you yes?"

"ye! Mi neva tek it mi diss him and him oman a come gwaan mi seh-"

A young couple came in interrupting our conversation giving us a brief look before taking a seat and getting back into their conversation.

In result, Tash moved off going into the kitchen to dish the different types of breakfasts on the menu. And I went behind the counter in front of the cash register.

"$1290.00" I answered the lady in front of me. My feet feels cramped, my head hurts I'm hungry for something salty ugh. It's nearing my lunch time which I'm grateful for. Hmm? Just 10 more people good. I just hope the line doesn't grow any longer.

I watched as she took her card out placing it on the counter. I swiped it on the machine it going through ever so quickly. There hasn't been a card that has been declined since I've started working here and it's been a good 11 months. Not bragging or anything just saying.

She left from the cashing line taking her receipt I sighed rolling my eyes for the hundredth million time in 5 hours what's worse is that I have 4 more. Chro

I didn't even bother to wipe the grimace from my face. Well, I tried. I did but failed. Miserably.

I looked in front of me to look at the next person I would serve instead of being met with a face I was met with an upper stomach. I looked up finding myself under big emerald pupils. I scanned the face of the man in front of me. Perfectly tanned face with a small stump that laid above and below his full pink lips, curls that sat perfectly atop his head along with the shades that looked expensive, and quirked eyebrows directed towards me. Most likely due to my unprofessional behavior.

I took my time analyzing his beige shirt that failed at the job of hiding his large muscles and biceps. My eyes traced down to his hands his left one covered in tattoos and the other wore his gold watch and a Jamaican beaded bracelet on. His lower body was covered with his khaki. knee-level shorts and his brown flip-flops.

Oh, rass. I chuckled to myself and the guy trying to lighten the semi-tense mood the stranger's expression remained the same. Things are slowly beginning to get awkward. Seriously has this guy never had a not-so-good day at work? He might not be the cause for how I'm feeling but can we move on? Mcheww

"you're holding up the line" I snapped. Maybe I need to chill.

To my statement, he scoffed. The bitch scoffed. Mi cyah tek dis eno. Regardless of the place being cooled by air conditioners, I was starting to get hot.

His facial expression seemed fairly calm except for the unreadable expression in his emerald pupils.

"what can I get for you today?" I tried again with a polite tone this time. Finally, he took his gaze off of me and directed it to the menu behind me.

Fina-fucking-ally I guess.

"What does the curried mutton with rice and peas taste like?" he finally spoke. His tone matched his glare; both cold and just dead.

I wasn't familiar with his accent. But it most definitely could not be suppressed.

"It tastes good." I don't think it has ever taken me this long to serve a customer.

"I'll take that and one of your large bottles of water" he answered gaze returning to me.

"large medium or small?" I asked reaching for the marker that layed next to me so I could write his name on his box of preferences.

"medium"

I took his order the receipt being printed in sync with my typing.

"Any side orders?" I asked looking up at him once more.

"No"

"Ok, that'll be 1,300.00"

I watched as he opened his wallet taking a 5,000 Jamaican dollar bill out so casually how rich people just take out large amounts of money from their purses and wallets will never get old. neither will seeing white people in Jamaica

I accepted his money placing it in the cash register while calculating his change.

"your name?"
He averted his gaze from his wallet to me Again.

"Vladimir" that's not Jamaican.

I handed him his box along with his change only for the dick to say

"keep it. Allow me to help you make your attitude better for the next customer." followed by a smile both the smile and his statement screamed sarcasm.

What a cunt. I didn't even bother to hide my annoyance I screwed my face up in his direction and rolled my eyes overly dramatically toward him. Regardless of his back being turned to me.

For the rest of his stay, he didn't bother to look my way which I'm more than grateful for. What a walking headache.

"A tru you nuh know stay deh yere" I replied to Tash's hysterical laughing.

"Suh you tek it?"

"Mi lef dat bloodclaat pon di counter it still deh deh"

I usually love a tip like that but something about it coming from him just makes it of no value. He's so rude. Mcheww.

"hush ya girl mi ago bade" Tash is my best friend so sometimes because I have a two-bedroom apartment, Tash stays over when she feels like it. But, she always asks me first because remember it's my house and I still need my space.
