I smiled politely at the customer as she trailed into the salon for her appointment before locking my eyes back onto the screen of the computer in front of me checking for and rescheduling appointments.

This was nice. I loved my new job it was simple there are fewer interactions with bitches and....assholes it just suited me.

I didn't have any friends. But, people;
staff members still spoke to me and I talked to them. And I like it that way.

The presence of someone in front of me made me look from the screen ready to meet the next customer.

Oh, it's the locks guy...why this always a happen to mi? Always a meet back people mi have weird experiences wid.

"Hi, how can I assist u today?" I asked with a courteous smile that could convince anyone I had my life put together.

"Hi," he replied with a smile of his own that seemed genuine compared to the fake one planted wide on my lips.

"How can I assist?" I once again inquired.

"I'm here for a retwist"

Oh..makes sense.

"What's your name?"

"Alex"

Him name sound common. Well, it practically is. Just like mine. Anyways..

I typed his name in and he did have an appointment for a retwist.

"Alright Alex, enjoy your stay"

He nodded with a small smile before walking off and I once again addressed the next customer with a polite "Hi,"

My phone chimed and I quickly averted my eyes from the computer screen to my phone.

It was an unknown number. My only guess is it's the same person from the other day with Tash and I based on the message since Tash blocked the other number.

'you're too pretty for your own good.' the message read.

I hissed my teeth ready to type all the expletives that did and did not exist at this annoying person before the clearing of someone's throat snapped me out of my developing rage.

Why is he here? Honestly, I'm not surprised I should've expected it. After all, he was once my kidnapper.

I looked around our surroundings seeing that everyone was distracted with work and chattering before giving Vladimir my undivided attention.

"What?"

"That's no way to speak to a customer Jada" he spoke with a mocking smirk.

"You aren't a customer. You're a pain in my ass"

"A pain where?" he asked placing his hands behind his ear to exaggerate his sarcasm.

I immediately looked away knowing he was talking about last night.

"Why are you here Vladimir?"
