I am going to announce a few changes. This book is to become a trilogy as Taro's punishment is changed to three years (a book for each year). There will be some title changes and a few things changed in the book.

These are: Blood (1), Sweat (2) and Tears (3), all part of The Time for Tears Trilogy (TTFTT)

Blood is set in France and the settings for Sweat and Tears are yet to be revealed.

Thanks, enjoy!

I was frozen. My muscles were stuck in place and my heart was now thudding in my ears loudly. Fear bubbled in my veins and I suddenly felt very weak, as if the days of not eating had finally caught up with me. I trembled slightly and my vision seemed to be spinning.

Nathan was speaking to me but I couldn’t hear him; I stared right past him, only just noticing his lips moving. His hands flew up with exasperation before he lurched forwards and grabbed my wrist.  He pulled me after him as he began to sprint and I could only faintly feel my legs running after him.

It was only the shrill whinny of the panicking Gibus that woke me from my dream.

“Nathan!” I shouted, stumbling and ripping the tights I was wearing.

“Come on!” He yelled back, pulling me up and racing on.

Gibus whinnied again and I turned to see him pulling at the tree he had been tied to as he reared and bucked. The moonlight disappeared; hiding the distressed animal from sight leaving me plunged in darkness. I gripped on to Nathans’ wrist, desperate to not lose him.

I fell again and I felt the skin on my knees tare. I gasped, feeling the hot liquid slide down my legs.

“Nathan! Please!” I screamed, tears of fear and confusion beginning to fall.

“Come on Isabelle,” Nathan pleaded as his hands found mine again.

I shook my head in the darkness then gasped as I felt him lift me, bridal-style, in to his arms. My hands locked behind his neck and I pushed my head in to his neck, trembling again. I whimpered as Nathan began to walk hastily, almost running as he headed in the direction of the gunshot.

Suddenly, the moon appeared, bathing us in its eerie light as it revealed the scene before us.

Before I could even register my surroundings, I felt the horrible sensation of falling and nearly screamed, Nathans’ hand stopping me. He fell on his back and me on his chest before he rolled us to the side, letting me go with a finger to his lips. I nodded with a shaky breath and remained flat on the cold earth.

Nathan pointed to me and then put his hands flat to the ground, looking at me still.

I nodded, staying in my position obediently as he rose slightly, just so that he could peer over the fallen log we had landed behind.

He watched for a while and ducked back down slowly, biting his lip.

Temptation overflowed in me and I took my turn. Shock coursed through me at the sight that met my eyes in that second before Nathan wrenched me down. A man dressed in a cold grey uniform stood over something, a revolver pointed at it dangerously. I observed the man, my eyes finding the Nazis swastika band on his arm as I noted his blond hair and startling blue eyes. Then that something moved and I realized with a small gasp it was a woman. At that moment, Nathan yanked me back, glaring at me accusingly.

“Who are they?” I whispered.

“A German Officer and a woman,” he replied almost soundlessly.
