A/N: sorry for all the Weasley one shots, thinking of making a separate Weasley book to keep all my writing more organized, would you guys want me to do that?

*****************************************

During potions, Snape declared detention for falling asleep in class. Really you can't blame Snape for this, even if it was frustrating.

You hadn't slept well the previous night, and potions were the first class of the day, of course you were going to sleep, whether you liked it or not.

You groaned and tried your best to pay attention, copying down notes, participating in the discussions, ultimately trying to kiss up to Snape into letting you slip past detention, but he already knew every game in the book. He was once a teenager, too.

Once class ended, you hurried onto your many other classes for the day, dreading that evenings detention with your favorite professor... not.

***************************

It was the dreaded time you had been waiting for, and you knew Snape was not going to be playing around with detention. You expected to be the only one present, but was shocked to see someone else- Harry Potter.

You sat down in one of the front desks, waiting for Snape to turn around and nag about what your punishment would be. Surprised to hear that you just had to organize a book shelf, but before Snape left, he made sure to mention he had many shelves for you to organize. 10 at most, thankfully Harry was there to do half.

You two got to work, Snape left the classroom and left you two exhausted teenagers to get to work.

"So how'd you get here?" You broke the silence as Harry looked at you through his eyelashes.

"Snape caught me walking after-hours. You?" He looked up from his spot on the floor, as he started to organize the bottom shelf.

"I fell asleep during potions." You bit your lip, before turning back to moving the top shelf books around in alphabetical order. Harry chuckled quietly.

"Any particular reason why?" You shook your head.

"Didn't sleep well last night." You rubbed your eyes as they started to feel heavy. Harry cooed quietly, you ignored him as you tried to hurry up your share of the work, eager to get into bed and read a good book until your eyes can't handle being awake.

"We haven't formally met, have we?" Harry said again, sitting on his knees now to get the next shelf up from where he worked. You bent down a bit to work on the second shelf, that only held a few small books.

"I don't think we have, I'm Y/n, Y/n Tonks." You smiled, before getting back to work, Harry met your gaze, winking at you before standing up more to work on the same shelf as you.

"I would introduce myself but you must know who I am already." He said cockily, warning an eye roll from you.

"Everyone knows who you are, Potter." You stifled a laugh. Before rubbing your hands together to try to clear away excess dust.

"Well not a lot of people know you, Tonks." He bumped your shoulder before standing beside you.

"Of course, not a lot of people converse with Hufflepuffs, but that's okay." You smiled slightly.

"No I didn't mean it like that." He started.

"No, no, I get it. My sister said that hufflepuffs are always forgotten about. I just thought that you, Harry Potter, of all people wouldn't be like that." You said, looking him in the eye before leaving the classroom. Leaving Harry behind.

At the Hufflepuff table, you couldn't help but stare at Harry from your spot. He was laughing with Hermione and Ron, as he caught your gaze he quickly dropped his smile and looked down at his food. You huffed, you realized you had sounded far too harsh that night in detention, but you couldn't find yourself starting a conversation with him anytime soon.

You looked down at your plate, scraping the food around but not really eating. Guilt washed over you, and you couldn't keep yourself together. You swung your legs around the bench before getting up and leaving the great hall. You felt eyes on your back and you knew who they belonged to.

You speed walked down the corridor, before sliding your back down the wall. And tucking your face into your knees, you knew that Harry would find you. You knew he never gave up on anything that quickly.

You heard hurried footsteps down the hall and you felt someone sit themselves down beside you. You grumbled, expecting it to be Harry, but really it was someone who was like a brother to you- Remus Lupin. Who you now refer to as Professor Lupin.

Remus and your sister had started dating, and right off the bat you two got along great. As you and your sister are best friends, you knew anyone who is friends with her would be your best friend too. It's always been that way, even despite the large age gap between the two of you.

"Oh y/n, what's got you upset?" His soft spoken voice asked, as he looked out at the hall in front of you two.

"I was kind of a jerk to Harry, and I feel guilty about it." You rose your head up, with your arms crossed on your knees.

"Harry Potter? What happened?"

"We were in detention and we were talking and getting along, but then I snapped at him, but I shouldn't have. I just don't think I can face him now."

"Yes you can." A new voice spoke, you looked forward to see Harry wearing a face of concern. Remus stood up, as you did too.

"I'll leave you two alone." Remus said quietly before walking away.

"I heard what you said, you shouldn't be afraid to face me. If anything I should be the one afraid to face you." Harry said, rushed. You crossed your arms in front of your chest.

"Why should you be afraid of me?" You let out a breathy laugh, watching your feet as you step away from the wall.

"Because you are worth much more than people make you out to be. You're not just a hufflepuff but also a bright witch. You shouldn't be stuck in the shadows because of the house you belong to."

You could tell he put much thought into his words, and that they were true. They weren't just words he didn't have a meaning behind.

"I forgive you, Harry, and I'm sorry for being a jerk to you the other night."

"Don't worry about it. We all have our moments." He chuckled and you smiled.

We turned and walked down the rest of the corridor together, side by side. You could tell just then how beautiful your friendship would become.
