Here's the latest update :) hopefully everything will be back to normal next week! Thank you guys for being patient! <333

I sold fifty crystals that day. Kirstie was unbelievably pleased with me and even spent some time in the tent with me since her business was slow. I was liking her more and more as time was going on. She was becoming more comfortable around me too and I could tell. She was joking and talking more around me, but every once in a while she'd shoot me an untrusting glance like she'd catch her guard slipping and put it back up. Much like Mitch did.

At the end of the day we closed shop and I shut the doors for her. "Do you have a crystal?" I asked her.

She half-smiled and nodded. "My grandma let me pick one out when I was a teenager. It's on my trailer."

I nodded. "Was she psychic?"

"Yeah." She smiled. "Her and my mother."

I liked that she was confiding in me the way I wish Mitch would. I knew I wasn't going to get much out of him. I had a million questions that I wanted to ask him but of course I had to make a stupid deal about only asking him one a day. At this rate I'd never know anything about him especially if he kept up with the short, vague answers.

"Mitch won't be out for a while...why don't you come hang out with us." She motioned over to the tent her and the other two usually hung out in. I was still pissed about the chair being thrown at my head the night before. She caught sight of my expression. "Look...they need to learn to trust you. Come on." She started walking away, motioning her hand to follow me.

I had one hour until Mitch was done with his show - one hour in a tent with someone who would potentially hurt me and another who I couldn't figure out. As we walked into the tent, Kevin nodded lightly at the both of us from where he was sitting with his laptop. Avi didn't didn't bother looking up from his book at all.

"So what are we doing tonight?" Kirstie asked them as we sat down on the couch.

"I don't know...movie or something?" Kevin asked. "We'll see what's on Netflix."

"Sounds good." Kirstie smiled. "Horror movie? You down for that?"

I nodded. "Yeah sure." I felt my anxiety rising as I sat there.

Kevin kept his strange eyes fixated on me. One of them was red and the other a deep brown. "Scott, come with me." He stood up and pointed to the side exit of the tent.

I panicked but Kirstie put her hand on my shoulder. "Go ahead." She mouthed to me with a hopeful smile.

I stood and followed Kevin out of the tent. Once we were outside he stopped me and shut the tent doors. "Look, I think we got off to a bad start. You gotta understand that we don't trust a lot of people."

"Yeah, I've heard you say." I said defensively.

"Mitch likes you though and I guess that's saying something." He said. "The last girl we trusted tried to turn us in for money when she discovered our powers. We promised never to bring another outsider in again."

I swallowed hard. "I wouldn't do that to you guys."

He looked me up and down. "I'd hope not. You responeded...really calmly to our powers. It's kind of weird."
