I pause the song 'MADU by Kizz Daniel' blasting from my headphones and hang them around my neck when my elder sister walks into my room
"What are you doing?" She asks sitting on my bed
"What does it look like?" I joke "I'm working out, summer body"
She snorts "Hope you're going to school tomorrow?, Just because mum and dad travelled and left me in charge doesn't mean you can talk me into letting you stay at home again tomorrow"
I roll my eyes "I'm going to school tomorrow, Fola"
"That one is your business, if you like don't go, I'll sha lock you outside the house" She laughs standing up
"It's true" She turns back around "How far that your babe?"
What is she saying?
"Ehn?, Which babe?"
"Ahan, that girl you came home with that day, she made wine braids, she's kind of fair"
I pause thinking, did she mean-?
"Feyi?, Feyi is not my babe please" I laugh "She's just my best friend"
"A guy and a girl can't call each other best friends without any strings attached, this is Naija, it's not possible"
"Think whatever you like, Feyi is just a friend"
I grimace at the thought of Feyi and I dating, ew, not happening
Okay don't get me wrong, Feyi is a very pretty girl but I saw her more like a sister, she was like family
"Sha get some sleep, it's late already, goodnight" Fola leaves the room
I place my headphones on my bed and pick up my phone, I put on my mobile data and scroll through my new messages, most are from girls asking me when I'm going to resume, like they just can't mind their business
Just as I'm answering the relevant ones, a call comes in, it's from Feyi requesting for a video call, I answer it
"You don't have shirt in your house shey?"
I knew she would ask that, she always complained about me being shirtless
"I was working out" I reply
"Hian" She bursts out laughing, her voice resounding through my room "Wetin Musa no go see for gate, e say is working out"
"Why do you love disturbing me this girl?"
"Who is this girl?, You owe me an explanation"
"For?"
"Why weren't you in school today?"
"I didn't feel like resuming fully yet, maybe by tomorrow" I shrug
"And you could not tell your best friend"
"I told Lanre" I purposely say to annoy her
She hisses loudly rolling her eyes
"Ode (Fool), me, I'm one of your best friends too"
"Yeah, it's your fault naw"
"My fault?"
"I called you yesterday night, your phone was switched off" I explain
"Yesterday night..." She trails off
"Shit!" When did this girl start swearing? "My dad seized my phone"
