It's Over & I Keep Forgetting

I keep forgetting
It's over

I get a text
And look to see if it's him
Only remembering
Seconds later
It shouldn't be

I go to snap him
And remember
I shouldn't

I think to invite him
To lunch with my friends
And forget
He won't be joining again

I keep thinking
We're just paused
I'll see him next weekend
He's just not responding
Right now

And I keep forgetting
It's over
We broke up
And there's a reason
I feel such a
Hollow quiet
Weight inside of me

There's a reason I couldn't sleep
There's a reason
I feel scared to go
Back to my room
Where all his decorations are

I miss him
