20 year old me
Would be devastated beyond words
That we lost him
19 year old me
Would be shocked
We got to date him
17 year old me
Would not even know who he was
Which makes me think about how
Before I ever knew him,
Or lost him,
I suffered and survived the grief of others
14 year old me
Would be shocked
That we're both still alive.
14 year old me
Would be amazed that
that I've had a chance
To fall in love
And that she's alive
And breathing and living in another state
Perhaps someone should tell
20 year old me
What I wish I could've told
14 year old me,
"Time actually heals.
It won't hurt like this forever."
