I still get asked
If we're still together
In fact
Just yesterday
My class partner
Asked me,
"Hey are you still dating ___?"
I tell myself
That I'm ready to get out
Because,
To be honest,
I'm ready to be I'm a place
Where I'm no longer known
As your ex
And you're not known as mine
Yet...
I'm still not quite ready
To be the only one
In a new place
Who knows you
I can leave this place
But your memory comes with me
And I'm not quite ready
To be free of you
But bear the knowledge
Of what you meant to me
Alone
