After I left Lucas and Elijah at the packhouse, I met Ria at my house. I'm cooking us both food before we settle down with movies and wine. "You know, I have missed your cooking," Ria said as she sniffed the air. I laughed and turned to face her while she was sat at the kitchen island. "Drew not feeding you?" I chuckled.

"Oh, he feeds me plenty." She smirked. My eyes went wide at her and I dropped the spoon I had in my hand on the counter. "Oh my god, I did not need to hear about any of that." I shrieked. I picked the spoon up and chucked it into the sink. "What... Sex?" She asked, casually. "Oh my god, Ria." I yelped, shaking my head.  "Have you not-?" She started to speak, "No." I blurted out, glaring at her.

She stood up and came to me. "Amaris." She soothed, I shook my head and glanced at the cooker. "I don't want to talk about it," I said through gritted teeth. She turned my head back to her and took a deep breath. "We don't have to, don't worry." She comforted me, "But can I just say one thing?" She asked, cautiously. I nodded and pulled my bottom lip between my teeth. "Alpha Rhydian is your mate, isn't he?" She asked. I nodded, not trusting my voice. She sighed and pulled me in for a hug. "I promise you, with Alpha Rhydian, it will be different." She promised, hugging me tightly. I wrapped my arms around her and exhaled.

She pulled away and grinned at me, "Now, what are you cooking me?" I chuckled and pointed to the cooker, "Go have a smell, see if you can guess." I replied. She clapped her hands together and beamed at me. She went over to the cooker and stuck her face over it, she inhaled deeply then turned to me. "Curry." She smirked. I nodded and winked at her. I know it's her favourite meal.

After we had eaten and washed up we settled in the living room, we argued for about 10 minutes on what film to watch. She wanted some romance shit and I wanted comedy so we compromised and we're watching Just Go With It. It has her lovey-dovey stuff and my comedy, it's a win-win!

"Girl, I've missed doing this," Ria said after the film finished. I popped a piece of popcorn in my mouth and hummed in agreement. "I'm so glad you decided to stay." She sighed contentedly, resting her head on my shoulder. "It was time." I shrugged laying my head gently on hers. "Would you have stayed if Alpha Rhydian wasn't your mate?" She whispered, I could hear the worry and fear in her voice.

I took a deep breath... Would I have stayed? I don't know, I would like to say yes but there's that whole niggling feeling that someone is out to get me so no, I probably would have run again.

"I'd like to say yes, but I don't think so," I replied, moving her head from my shoulder. She took in a sharp breath and her eyes welled up with tears. "I don't want to upset you," I comforted her. "I have this constant overwhelming fear when I'm home. Back in Canada, nobody knew who I was. I was safe." I said, trying to get her to understand.

She sighed and wiped her eyes. "I know. I'm sorry, I do understand." I pulled her to me and wrapped my arms around her back. "Do you feel safe now?" She muttered. "Safer than I have in years," I admitted. She chuckled and I felt her smile against my shoulder. "I'm glad you have Alpha Rhydian. He'll look after you," She whispered. I hummed in response and closed my eyes, hugging her tightly.

She pulled away from me, stretching. "So, what's going to happen with your Alpha position?" She questioned. I shrugged, "I don't want to be the Alpha." She smiled at me and hummed. "Want some more wine?" I asked, standing up. She nodded and stood up too. "You know what you will be?" She asked excitedly as we went to the kitchen. "What?" I answered as I opened the fridge. I began pouring wine into our glasses, "You'll be our Luna." She chuckled as she picked up her wine glass.

"Who took over your dad by the way?" I questioned then took a sip of wine. Her eyes went wide and then she started coughing. "Goddess, Ria. Be careful." I giggled. "No one has taken over, no one had the training for the Gamma position." She explained, "I reckon he'll choose someone to go through the training though." She added.

I glared at her and put my glass down a little too hard making some wine spill over the edge. "Bullshit, you trained for the Gamma position," I deadpanned. "You should be Gamma." I rolled my eyes. She took a deep breath and shook her head, "I don't want to be Gamma." She whispered. I raised a brow at her, the wine was starting to get to my head.

We don't get drunk as such, our metabolism doesn't allow it. Our healing burns the alcohol off before it can settle but we can get tipsy and slightly intoxicated. That's what's happening now...

"You did want to be Gamma though. You were going to be my Gamma, you are going to be the Gamma." I rattled on, waving my hands in the air like a lunatic. Her eyes went wide and she choked on her drink, "Are you drunk?" She croaked. "Nooo, we don't get drunk, remember?" I laughed.

"Oh my god, you're affected by the wine though." She chuckled. "Don't change the subject." I badgered, pointing my finger at her. She shook her head and took a sip of her wine, "I can't be the Gamma. Alpha Rhydian wouldn't let me, I work with the warriors with Drew." She explained.

I raised both my brows at her and placed my hand on my hip. "Really? We'll see about that." I declared. I picked up my glass and swigged the rest of the wine in one big gulp. Ria gasped as I placed the glass down in the sink, "What are you doing?" She cringed. I spun around, a sinister smirk appearing on my face.

She gawked at me then ran her hand down her face. "Dear Goddess, this isn't going to be good." She moaned. I marched past her, grabbing my leather jacket that was hanging on the back of the living room door. I reached the front door and went to pull it open, "Shit Amaris, what the hell are you doing?" She screeched, following me.

I pulled open the door, letting it thud against the wall. "Going to get you your Gamma position," I claimed. "Amaris, no! It's like..." She glanced at the clock hanging in the hallway, "Amaris, it's fucking midnight. Get your arse back in here." She shouted after me as I marched down the little gravel path from my front door. "Amaris, the wine is affecting you. Come back and sleep." She shouted in a whisper as she caught up to me.

"Not drunk," I replied, making my way to the packhouse.

I obviously didn't think this through, staggering towards the packhouse to confront Rhydian while I'm slightly intoxicated isn't exactly my best moment. But, at the minute my minds too clouded to make any rational decisions.

Ria kept up with me as I reached the packhouse. I stomped up the steps and went to boot the door open. "Fucking hell, Amaris. Open the door like a normal person." Ria shrieked. I glanced at her from the corner of my eye and smirked at her.

I am so going to regret this in the morning or as soon as the wine has been burned out of my system. I pushed open the door with force. It hit the little table behind it, knocking a vase onto the floor and smashing it. I saw a few lights turn on up the stairs and the sounds of footsteps. They were coming to investigate. I clapped my hands together and peered at Ria who was stood awkwardly, scratching the back of her neck. "Do not even think about it!" She mouthed at me. The girl knows me well, I'll give her that. I chuckled at her and turned back to the stairs.

"ALPHA RYDIAN, GET YOUR ARSE DOWN HERE." I bellowed.
