Well, I guess I'm going to be texting this random stranger... this Tae, or whatever it was. This guy literally doesn't have trust issues; He's just giving his number out to people he doesn't even know.
Actually, maybe we're not fully strangers, since we are neighbors, in a way. I mean, I wouldn't trust my neighbors, as I don't talk to them in general, but he can do whatever he wants.
The only reason I'm doing this is because I refuse to waste more of my precious printer paper when we could be texting instead.
As I'm typing his number into my phone, I can't help but feel a little nervous. Alright, maybe I'm more than a little nervous.
To be fair, this is the first person I've spoken to over the whole summer other than my coworkers and some customers. And Luna, if she counts. Or myself. So you can't really blame me.
Alright, here we go, I think to myself. After debating for a moment over what I'm supposed to say, I finally decide to go for it. Wow, this is the fastest I've ever made a decision about something social.

Well, that was stupid, because I'm not Luna. Still, I'm going to continue keeping up this whole pretending-to-be-a-cat thing because I have no idea what else to do.
"At least Tae seems social enough, carrying conversations and all. Hopefully that compensates for my antisocial self," I say to myself, then grimace at the name I just said.
I don't know, it just doesn't sound right. Then again, I shouldn't be judging names, especially when I know close to nothing at him.
At least it looks like we've got quite a bit in common. We're both cat owners, and share a passion for art. I'll get used to the name.
My phone sounds with a loud notification, making me jump a little. I guess this is what happens when nobody texts you for weeks and you forget you had your ringer up at the maximum volume.

I look down at my hands and see that they're literally shaking from this interaction. I should really start being more social. I think I'm doing alright so far, though.

Am I being too formal? Yeah, I'm definitely being too formal. All you need to do is compare our texting styles to one another. I text like I'm talking to a teacher, while Tae texts like a... well... a normal person, probably.
Maybe I should drop the formal stuff.

I scrutinize the picture, observing the fine details. My pride doesn't want to let me admit it, but he's actually amazing.
The signature in the bottom right doesn't exactly look like the name "Tae", but every artist has their own signature. I brush my curiosity off and respond.

I'm tempted to ask what he does for a living, but I feel like he would've told me already if he wanted me to know. He also seems a little reluctant about it... I don't know. I'm making a lot of assumptions for someone who doesn't talk to people, but I'm not gonna push him.
