Ava Halstead just came back from 2 years as a Marine and is going to firehouse 51 on squad 3 but isn't on the best terms with her brothers because of them not wanting her to be a Marine but she didn't care, she's a lot more like her twin brother Jay...
You were sitting at the squad table with capp and tony
When gallo comes over " hey can I talk to you " He says and you nod getting up and going over to squad and you go behind it so no one sees
" you ok" You say but the next thing you know you kisses you and you were confused but you kiss back " Oh sorry, just having a bad day" He says and leans against squad " not complaining " you smile " so what's up" you say standing next to him " no it's nothing just a small fight with Casey " He says " ok " You smile then kiss him again and you can tell he was surprised
You were about to walk away but he grabs your hand " so how's about I take you out, tonight " He says and you smile " yeah sure, pick me up, 7 maybe "you smile " yeah sure " he says then you walk away to squad again
The end of shift
You walk out with your bag and get in your car and drive home
You get home and make yourself a cold smoothie then go upstairs to get ready

You smile to yourself then you put on a small bit of makeup before going downstairs
You hear a small knock on your door and walk over " hey " You smile " ready to go " He says and you smile " yeah let's go " You say then close the door and lock it
You get in to his car and he starts driving " so where we going " You ask " it's a surprise, obviously " He smiles looking over at you and you nod then he plays some music
You get to the restaurant and you guys walk in and get a table
" so what is this " you ask after a few minutes later and take a small sip of your wine " what can't I take you out " he smiles " ok, fine " You say then you guys start talking
You were talking about Jay, Will and you past but then you turn to him " hey, what about you " You smile "what do you mean " He asks " what about your family " You smile and you can see him get nervous " hey, it's ok" You smile softly " em.. ok " he takes a deep breath " em... actually we're done here anyway, can we just go back to your place. It's kinda a long story " He smiles and you can see he's upset and you nod and the both of you leave to go to your house
" hey, I'm just going upstairs to change and I can't wear this heels anymore. I'll be down in a few minutes " You say walking in and you throw your keys on the table then run upstairs

You go downstairs again and see Gallo sat on the couch with 2 beer and he took a sip from 1 and handed you the other one
You sit down on the couch next to him " you don't have to tell me " you smile " no I want to " he says " ok, well no family is perfect even mine " you say and he nods " well when I was 12 years old I was in the my house with my parents and little sister" He smiles softly " well anyways I was just in my room, I don't now what I was doing but I smelled smoke then I looked out the door and I seen flames. I was so scared that I ran straight to the closest but before I get in I heard my little sister call my name but I was just so scared that I ran and hid" He takes a deep breath and you smile softly " my whole family died in that fire, and I still don't know to this day if I could've saved her or saved all of them" He says and you can see his eye water " I was saved by firehouse 131 and they all became my family " He says then you hug him
" my parents died too" You say then he pulled away " as you know me and Jay were deployed together a good few years ago then Will tells us over the phone that Mom was sick, cancer" you sigh " Jay left to take care of her that's when he starts doing detective work and I stayed deployed. She died not long after" You say " then my dad and I well me, jay and Will, we never had the best relationship well anyway me and Jay were always taking care of him even if it was just going to visit him when we weren't deployed. Will went to college, it was just me and Jay take care of us. Then there was something wrong with is heart and he needed surgery but he was fine " You say
" anyways at this point I was still deployed and me, jay and Will wasn't really talking and I was still talking to Dad sending him money and calling him then one day I was calling him and he usually picks up the phone soon after but he never picked up, I called again but nothing then a few days later I got a letter from Jay and Will saying that he had died in a fire" You take a deep breath " I was never there for Jay and Will never went to the funerals, and I know the both of them were broken and I knew Jay had ptsd from everything and I was never there for any of them" you say upset " you're here now" He smiles and you nod then you guys hug
" hey, I got to get going " ha says standing up a while later " will you be ok" he smiles and you nod " thanks for telling me you know about your family " You say and smile " yeah, you too" He says and kisses the top of your head " Bye, Ava " He says " Bye, Blake " you smile then he leaves
A few minutes later
You start looking through old pictures and start getting upset and you text Will and Jay on a group chat

Jay 💚 Yeah are you ok
Will 💛 Yeah sure
Me Yeah, I'm fine Thanks
You smile at your phone
10 minutes later
You open the door to see jay and Will And you hug them " I'm so sorry guys" you say in to Jay's shoulder " hey, what do you mean " will says pulling away " for not being here and everything with Dad and Mom " you hug then again and you guys go over to the couch and you guys talk it out and watch a movie then they go home and you go to bed
