Ava Halstead just came back from 2 years as a Marine and is going to firehouse 51 on squad 3 but isn't on the best terms with her brothers because of them not wanting her to be a Marine but she didn't care, she's a lot more like her twin brother Jay...
You and gallo walk up to the fire house laughing about everything when Capp calls out to you guys " hey, we got a candidate today" he says and your eyes slightly widen surprised " I'm the kitchen" he says then smiles " making pancakes" he says with his cheeky smile and you just in response looking up at gallo then you both walk in to see who it was
You walk in to see javi, the young boy who Cruz was looking after
" hola, Javi" you say and mess with his hair " hola" he says with his natural accent " javi is our candidate for two days, Halstead" Cruz says from where he was sitting " great so I can boss you around" you smile messing with his hair again as you walk past to go to the lockers and trow your bag inside before you guys get a call
You jog out after everyone else and throw on all your gear
You guys get there to see it was an electrical wire which means that the whole ground was electrical so you all had to stay away
" what we doing" you ask " I'm going up with ropes on the aerial and back down there to get the man then come back up with the man"he says tying a few ropes " what ever happens, no one touches that ground" he turns to you and you nod " you help carver up top with the ropes" he says and you nod again going up to him
You and carver had the ropes that were lifting severide which was fine in till you guys find out that they have to come out together
" you good" carver asks and you immediately nod as severide gets the man on the ropes
" carver, Halstead get ready" he yells and you both nod going up on the aerial slightly
You both mumble slightly as they get brought up which makes Stella yell up
" you guys good" she yells " yeah we got it" carver answers and you nod
You could tell carver had most of the rope but you felt the rope slightly ripping through the gloves you had on and you could practically feel it leaving red marks
Soon severide gets down with the man and the Paramedics take him then you guys leave not long after
You guys get back to the fire house and gallo was telling javi about what severide did and you smile to yourself as he basically pictures severide being a super hero and javi looked amazed
" where's the pancakes, javi" you say and he immediately brings you guys in to the kitchen where he and of course with help mad pancakes
" yum.." you say getting the smell " just gotta clean my hand first" you say looking at the rope burn you had and gallo immediately comes over flipping your hand over " what happened" he asks " just a bit of rope burn, nothing to serious, I live" you smile and kiss his cheek before cleaning any dirt that might be on it
You sit down soon after and eat what feels like 100 pancakes
You walk out to the squad table to see javi in the truck with Cruz and Tony and with Capp asleep and soon they blow the horn which gets Capp to fall of the chair
"Bueno, javi" you say ( good one, javi) He smiles " thanks Ava" he says then Cruz lifts him down then goes over to thank severide
" bye javi" you smile as him and Cruz leaves at the end of shift " see ye, Cruz" you say after a minute and they both wave
" come on, I got you bag" gallo says coming behind you " thank you," you say and give him a kiss then turn to the rest of squad " see you guys next shift" you say with a small smile then you and gallo leave going back to your apartment
" did you ever hear from Ellen" he asks and you shake your head " nothing yet" you say with a sad smile " soon" he says and you nod " yeah hopefully" you say and give him a small smile then put your hand on his cheek slightly slapping it " go to the couch, I gotta wash the floors," you say and he nods
The whole night you spent it cleaning and now it's the next shift
You and gallo walk in and bring your bags to the lockers
He goes to the kitchen but you go out front to see both javi and Cruz
" hey javi, you going through drills with severide today" you ask and he nods " yeah later on" he says " good luck" you smile " you gonna help out severide said all of squad" he says and you slightly laugh " yeah I'll help out" you say then go and sit at the squad table and gallo soon comes out with a coffee which you take happily
Later on you guys are doing drills with javi outside and when he's finished he asks " what's the Record" he asks " that would be severide, 18 never been broken" Tony says and severide slightly nods proudly " I got close" you mumble to yourself " hey well you beat Capps time" you say patting Capps back and he slightly glances at you and you bit your lip trying to stop from laughing
After a minute severide helps javi up and starts talking
" few years back we were on a house fire call and a few minutes in a chimney comes right down on top of me, fires coming in the room and just when I think things couldn't get an worse, the floor starts to fail" he starts and you assume that you weren't there because you cant remember it " but joe was there even when the chief that was on the scene told everyone to get out and even when the floor started cracking wanna know what joe Cruz did" severide asks javi and he just nods listening " he didn't leave, he went out and get a big piece of wood and get some of the Weight off me so I could get out, he did it all by himself, so I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for joe Cruz" severide finish's his story and javi adds "Me too, you caught me before I fell out of a window" he says looking up at severide
" I remember" severide nods " joes my hero" javi says turning to him and Cruz can't help but smile " so javi to finish up your day, you gonna help me clean up" you ask and he nods with a smile
You guys get it all cleaned up before leaving it in the gear room
You guys leave at the end of shift
You go home and get dressed for Mollys

You and gallo both walk in and sit with Ritter at the bar before ordering a drink
Soon Hermann comes up to you guys
" my niece is coming, she's been getting in trouble so I promised her dad that I would give her a job here, so everyone be on your best behaviour oh and Ava i think you would be a Great influence" he says and you slightly laugh " Hermann please" you say with a smalls laugh " what it's true" he says then shushes me " she's coming" he say's waving his hand so we would shut up
" guys this is Tracy" he says after he hugs her and you guys turn around and gallos eyes immediately go wide and you're a bit confused But she speaks up " nice to meet you guys" she says checking gallo out and at this your eyes go wide " lovely to meet you" you say with a fake smile at the girl and she spins leaves saying hello to a few other people
You turn to gallo who was still scratching his neck " ok so are we just going to ignore the fact that you practically just went mute when that girl came or.." you say angrily " ok ok let's just say before I got with you and had a massive crush on you for like a month but before I actually did something about it I kinda wanted something to distract me" he says and you almost laugh " you were with herrmans niece" you laugh and he nods " this is gonna be great" you say turning to Ritter who was also laughing " I can't believe this" gallo says before throwing back his beer and grabbing your hand " we're out of here" he says and drags you out with you laughing
