My world crumbled at those two words.

Colby promised he would be careful. He promised to come back.

His promises meant nothing.

"Jules..." Nate mumbled as a tear rolled down my cheek. "What do you mean he's missing?" I asked, my voice hardly a whisper.

"We went to a dinner, and things were going fine but none of us can remember what happened." Nate said with a flustered tone.

"It's the same thing that happened with Sam." He said as my hero dropped.

"I'm coming." I said as he gasped slightly. "Julia. No. It's far too dangerous." He said as I shook my head.

"If he's missing I have to find him." I said and stood up, grabbing a duffel bag.

My body was on autopilot as my mind raced with worry. I didn't care what was going on, I needed to find Colby.

"What about the kids?" Nate asked, stopping me in my tracks.

"Fuck." I hissed, closing my eyes. I couldn't leave them.

Even if I wanted to leave, I wouldn't be able to do it.

"I...I have to come." I whispered, sitting on the bed.

"Colby would kill me if I let you get involved. We don't know what's happening but we'll figure it out and find them. Don't worry about a thing." He said as I shook my head.

"I can't just sit here any longer, Nate. I've been waiting for him to come back to me for months." I said quietly.

"We're gonna try and figure this out. You need to stay out for as long as you can." He explained. "You'll keep me updated though, right?" I asked as he sighed.

"I will." He said as I nodded. "Okay." I said then hung up.

My mind was racing knowing that Colby was in some serious danger.

I didn't sleep.

I couldn't, knowing that he was technically missing.

It did however bring me some comforting knowing he was probably with Sam. Together they would figure out a way to get out of there.

Unless they couldn't.

I sat awake, trying desperately to keep myself together before the alarm that was supposed to wake me up.

Taking the kids to school seemed impossible though, and I had already promised Jenna she wouldn't have to go. It wouldn't kill them to have another day off of school.

I got out of bed and went to leave the room, but all I could think about was how Colby was missing.

I grabbed my phone and called the number which I now had saved as Nate's.

"Hello?" He asked as I sighed. "Any updates?" I asked and chewed at my lip nervously.

"It's been five hours, Jules. No." He said with a dry laugh.

"This isn't fucking funny, Nate! How do you lose two grown ass adults!" I yelled, running my hand through my hair.

"Julia, I really just need you to trust us. Can you do that?" He asked as I shook my head. "Honestly, Nate. No, I can't." I said and narrowed my eyes.

"Okay, understandable. Just give us some time to figure this out." He said as I sighed.

"You have two days before I show up and figure it out myself." I said as he groaned. "You're impossible." He said as I nodded. "Yup." I said then hung up.
