The next day, Diana was as busy as ever, buried beneath a mountain of paperwork in her study. Her loyal personal maid, Alexa, had been with her since Diana was just 11 years old. Despite not being blood-related, Alexa was not just a maid but also a trusted friend and an older sister figure to Diana.
Alexa, gently interrupted her.
"Miss, you should probably rest for a moment," Alexa suggested, concern in her eyes. "You've been doing your paperwork for hours now."
Diana glanced at the table piled high with paperwork and let out a tired sigh. She knew Alexa was right. She had a tendency to get lost in her work and forget to take breaks. Reluctantly, she agreed. "Fine, I should probably rest for a moment."
Alexa smiled warmly at her mistress and watched as Diana made her way to the nearby couch. Diana closed her eyes for just a moment, but the exhaustion soon overcame her, and she fell asleep.
The next day, Diana found herself freed from her usual paperwork duties. Her parents had insisted that she take some time to rest, recognizing the toll her responsibilities had taken on her. Diana couldn't help but sigh in relief at the prospect of a break.
Turning to Alexa, who had been her unwavering support, Diana had an idea. "Alex, would you like to come with me to look around for a moment? I want to visit the bookstore; it's been a while since my last visit there."
A bright smile formed on Alexa's face as she eagerly accepted the invitation. "Of course, Miss. I'll inform Duke Ophuis and Duchess Aira about it."
Diana nodded appreciatively, knowing that her parents would be pleased with her taking some time for herself.
