500 Not Given

One day when I was 7 years old I had $10 saved from the summer selling vegetables at the farmer's market in Bennington and I thought, "how can I get more money?" The idea came to me to give the money to my mom and I asked her to buy me a $10 scratch ticket. You might be thinking she took the $10. No, she bought a ticket, gave it to me, and I immediately scratched it. There were 3 games on the ticket and the 1st 2 were straight losses. Then I scratched the winning numbers on the last game and I won. I scratched the first number and it matched, the prize was $50. I got excited and ran to tell my family but none of them cared. I went back to the ticket in my room and scratched the rest of it. The total winning was $500, of which I never saw a dime. My mother took it for herself giving the excuse that I was too young for that much money. She didn't even give me the $10 back that I id for the ticket. I was most definitely not too young and that was my money that I could have used or better yet saved.
