Chapter 24: Vision

(Demetri's POV)

"You look a little nervous dude." Felix said as we walked up to the castle. He was carrying the bag with all Chloe's files in.

"That's because I am," I replied, "Chloe is going to kill me when she finds out that I've read her files."

"No she won't." he said opening the door.

"Yes she will," I said, "I had to hold her hostage to get her to tell me about her childhood."

"Ya you're dead." He said and chuckled while I rolled my eyes.

"Demetri, Felix," Aro said walking up to us as we entered the castle, "did you find anything?" I gave him my hand and he frowned.

"Meet me and my brother in my office in one hour." He said then walked away with Felix right behind him. I let out a long breath and walked back to my room. Chloe was there reading like she usually is.

"Hay," I said sitting by her and she smiled at me.

"Did you find anything?" she asked and I bit my lip.

"A couple things," I replied, "Aro wants the elite guard to meet in his office in one hour."

"Does he want me there?" she asked and I shook my head.

"What did you do while I was gone?" I asked and she shrugged.

"I hung out with Jamie, Riley, and Seth." She said, "I also talked with Alec and Raven."

"What did you talk about?" I asked.

"Raven just wanted to talk about random things," she said, "Alec he more of interrogated me about my life in foster care."

"I'll ask him not to do that." I said and she shrugged.

"It's fine," she replied, "at least he doesn't hold me against my will." I smiled and kissed her.

"I'm not going to apologize for that." I said and she rolled her eyes. We sat and talked for a while. I avoided bringing up that I went through her files. I figured I should see what Aro has to say first.

"Um," Chloe said when we fell into silence, "I need to tell you something."

"What?" I asked looking at her worried. She was about to speak, but Felix knocked on the door telling me it was time to go.

"Tell me when I get back." I said kissing her on the cheek.

"Shouldn't Chloe be here?" Renata asked as we stood in Aro's office.

"She will be when we're done here." Aro said while standing up from his chair.

"Demetri and Felix found out that Blake has been following her since she was born," Aro continued, "now we just need to find out why."

"It's got to be because of her gift." Alec muttered while looking at Chloe's file. I had to restrain myself from taking them from him.

"That would make the most sense." Caius said and Marcus nodded.

"What are we going to tell her about her parents?" Marcus asked and everyone looked at me and Felix with confusion.

"I don't know," Aro sighed while sitting down thoughtfully.

"I will take care of that then." Marcus said and Aro nodded. Everyone fell into silence until Alec broke it when he muttered to himself.

"This last file doesn't tell anything." He muttered.

"What does that mean?" I asked and he snapped his head up to meet my eyes.

"She didn't tell you?" he asked and quickly continued, "well then it's none of my business to say."
