Hi guys! If this is your first time reading this fic, welcome, and a few disclaimers:
I'm a big believer in the safe exploration of fantasy through fiction. I don't think that fictional relationships need to always reflect healthy realistic relationships, and I'm pretty sure most fanfic readers would agree. That being said, I also know that sometimes the lines between fiction and reality can become blurred for readers, and I don't want any young people reading this story to become vulnerable to predators or other unhealthy situations.
I started writing this story when I was 15 and posting it when I was 16, which is why the reader is so young at the start of the story. As I aged while posting the story, my understanding of this changed, and if I were to rewrite this now I would change it to age the reader up from the start. While I did my best to write a relationship with healthy elements (friends to lovers, mutual respect, etc), I just want to reemphasize to younger readers that the power dynamics inherent in this story would not be safe in real life.
