chapter four

Present day

"What did you guys talk about, should I be worried"kyle asked. He waited for me.
"Nothing to be worried about,I handled it"I entered the back seat of the car and he entered after me.
"Would you like to go get ice cream with me"I asked him, he looked at me like he had just seen a ghost.
"Mrs Moore, are you asking me on a date"he said with his hands on his chest, faking shock.
"You are so stupid, sometimes"I mocked 
"If am stupid, then why are you asking me out on a date"he winked
"It's not a date"I winked back
"Then why'd you wink"he smiled
"Are you coming or not"I snapped, I was trying to cheer myself up
"Fine, I'll come along"
I guess he noticed that I wasn't in a good mood.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you, my friend will be coming with us, she's already waiting for me"I scanned my hand bag and brought out my phone to call Laura, we had a lot of catching up to do.
"Who is this mysterious friend"kyle asked he pulled off his tie.
"Her name's Laura"I smiled, she was an amazing person, she helped me when I had no one to turn to, I was so lucky to have met her.

The driver stopped in front of the ice cream shop, Laura was already waiting for us.
"Hi"she said and winked at kyle who just foolishly looked away.
"Laura, this is kyle and kyle this is laura"I took a seat next to Laura.
"Kyle, I've heard a lot about you"she looked at me smiling creepily.
"Oh really, she talks about me"he looked at me too, now both of them were smiling creepily at me.
"No I do not, you are not as interesting as you think you are"I smirked
"Gasp, Gasp, is that how you talk to your boss" laura whispered and put her hands on her chest.
"Yes, eve is this how you talk to me"he said doing weird things with his eyebrows and I have got to admit, he looked really cute.
"Did you guys plan this"I gasped like I had made a great scientific discovery.
"No"they said at the same time.
"I think I like this girl"kyle said and Laura could hardly hide her blushing cheeks.
"For a ceo, you're really cool and laid back" she said.
"I don't get it"
"I thought millionaires were rude and arrogant, but you're not"
"Is that a good thing"
"Of course it is"
I couldn't stop smiling as I watch my two closest friends bond, deep inside I wished he'd ask her out already, but knowing kyle he wouldn't do it unless someone"me" forced him too.
He's last girlfriend really hurt him.
He was good at hiding pain, just like me.
"What are you staring at"kyle snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Nothing" I said quickly.
"You're lying"they said
"So what, if am lying"
Kyle's phone beeped and he looked at me apologetically.
"What's wrong"I asked
"There's a party this evening, you have to be there" he said quickly.
"No, am not attending a party"
"I can't believe you're still scared of parties" laura said
"I just can't"
"Think of it as a business meeting" kyle said trying to cheer me up.
"Where is this party"I raised an eyebrow.
"Mr Niretah's house"he said
I said nothing, I didn't want to step foot in that house.
"Eve are you okay, it's time to go"kyle brought me back to earth.
"Yeah, go ahead, am gonna stay with Laura" I faked a smile.
He didn't want to go without me but I convinced him and I stayed with Laura.
"You know you have to go right"laura said immediately kyle left.
"I am not going"
"I thought you said you've moved on"she teased
"I have moved on"
"Then why is going to his house for a party a big deal" she knew she had won, because she was right.
I claimed to have moved on but the thought of stepping foot in that house scared me.
