Five years ago.

I couldn't believe it, I just couldn't.

Pregnant, how would jason react, his anger issues had become unbelievably serious.

The injuries had become worse.

I still thought about bruce's words.

Maybe he was right, maybe I should leave, before it's too late.

He controlled every part of my life, am glad he let me start my job, but I knew that he still didn't like the idea of me working.

Luckily he wasn't coming back till next week.

Should I call him, was he busy.

My mind felt numb.

What if he hurt the baby the way he hurts me.

It would be my fault, because I didn't leave when I had the chance.
No I'll wait for him.
If he gets angry then I'll leave for awhile and when I get back we can talk things through.

I was smiling, genuinely smiling.

I haven't genuinely smiled for some time now.
This is good.

The door was roughly slammed and I rushed down the stairs, jason is back.

I stopped in my tracks, and just stared at him with feelings of shock, betrayal and anger..

As I saw him locking tongue with a woman I had never seen before, I realized what a fool I was.

I was standing right in front of him, but he was too busy mouth bathing this witch to notice me.

"Oh....you.... your home"he slurred obviously drunk.

"Meet my second wife"he laughed giving the woman another kiss, he had no shame what so ever..

"She's going to give me a child she isn't barren like you"

What was he talking about, we never even discussed children.

I raised my hands and gave him a hard slap.

I regretted it immediately when I saw the look on his face..

The woman rushed out of the house.

And I stood there helpless and vulnerable.

He grabbed my hair and dragged me up the stairs..

Now I was crying loudly.

"Please don't........I beg you"I cried as my body was overwhelmed by the pain.

I screamed as he landed punches on my stomach.

"Am pregnant"I yelled, but he wasn't listening..

I couldn't risk a miscarriage.

In a frenzy, I picked up the lamp next to me and slammed it on his head.

I pushed him away and ran out of the house..

Fell down a few times, but I just got up and kept running.

&.&.&.

I sat on a bench, it was late so there was little movement..

"Hi" a voice said.

I looked at the face staring at me, she looked like she was older than me.

"You're bleeding"she stated the obvious.

"Let me take you to a hospital"she smiled.

I nodded silently.

She took my hands and led me to a taxi that took us straight to the hospital.

My only concern is my child, was I still pregnant..

When the doctor told me I had Lost my child, I had never cried so hard in my life.

"Why...why would he do this to me"I screamed.

The lady held me as I wailed and cried my eyes out.

I didn't remember anything after that.
The doctors put me to sleep because I was breaking everything around me.

The lady was still there when I woke up, she said her name was laura.

She took me to her house after I was discharged.

In a few days, even though my pain hadn't reduced, I got a small job as a waitress.

I was still living with Laura, she didn't bother me or ask me questions, she understood how hard it was to talk about it.

But soon I opened up and we became inseparable...

In three months I was ready to leave, the city.

I took a bus out of town leaving behind my past and everything I lived for.

Who knew what the future held for me.

I was sure of one thing, jason was never going to be in my life.
