As I finally exited the bustling kitchen, I was greeted by an airy and welcoming environment.

The sunlight glistened on the leaves of the apple trees that were scattered all over the landscape.

"Here's your basket, princess,"
Laira popped onto my side and handed out a wooden bag.

I thanked her warmly and made a mad dash for the apple tree with the enormous trunk of all the trees.

"Princess, be careful!"
She yelled in horror.

I just ran?

"Yes, yes. I will,"
I sighed as I turned my back to her.

She sounds just like my Aunt...

Looking up, I crept on tiptoe and grabbed the red and plump apple, figuring it was sweet enough to harvest.

It was finally dry enough to eat after I had wiped it cleanly. As I devoured its flavour, a chunky, juicy, sweet apple widened my eyes.

"Oh wow,"
I nodded in satisfaction and grabbed a couple more to fill the basket.

I went around the tree, devouring every apple that looked nice until the apples that could only be picked standing were all gone.

I glanced up and found a couple more good-looking apples hidden at the top branches.

I turned around and saw Laira looking back at me.

Ugh. Way to ruin my plans.

"Uhm. Laira?"
I said, scratching the back of my neck.

"Yes, Princess?"
She turned all her attention to me, eyes glistened.

"Can you grab my gloves at my nightstand?"
I asked, even though I didn't need it.

"Alright, I will be back,"
She walked at her fastest speed since the room was far from the garden.
